The guy looks the part and fits in with the band and it seems that he may not feature with the Gorillaz again - www.nme.com/news/gorillaz/54369I think he would add a great deal to the group as a full-time member, he would relieve some pressure off Gem & Andy (they wouldn't have to play as much bass) He's also a great guitar player so could play a part in writing the instrumentals & solos and maybe some lyrics if he is up to it. LAG may have a partnership that they don't wanna break but to me it makes sense if its going to make the tunes stronger. What do you think?

I don't think he'd wanna be. Having heard some of his playing and origional music I think he's using BE for the paycheck

I saw him with the Gorrilaz in Hong Kong recently. His "look" on stage isn't like Oasis or Beady Eye. His bass strap was constantly around his waist and he was bopping around the whole time with a silly hat on...

Well every photo or video I've seen he's looked pretty cool and to be honest I doubt Liam would allow them to share a stage if he looked like a dick.

He looks the coolest out of all of them judging from the Four Letter Word video. He wouldn't want to become a member though....he has his own music to do

I don't know about Jeff, from what u guys are saying he may not have been open for it, but I had been hoping that they would fill their lineup with permanent members instead of just using session musicians.

The guy has his own website jeffwootton.net/Guess he'll be recording a solo album like Deasy said. And has a song uploaded on youtube: I don't know much about this sort of things but probably is cheaper to hire musicians than sharing the music rights with them.

I'd forgotten about jeff, he's not in any of the promo photos or anything. Dont really care about him tbh, bands like kasabian and the manics have extra guitarists live but nobody gives a shit, he'll probably just stand in a corner playing his bass. But i do like what ive heard of his solo music, would be interested if he contributed to beady eye.

I'm not surprised they're using session musicians. If they made Jeff a full time member then they'd have to pay him loads more. When Gem and Andy first joined they were only on about £80 a gig. It would be nice to have a band full of permanent members but why have him on the record when Andy can play bass? Then they'd just have to pay Jeff royalties. Shame it's all about money.

Shame it comes down to that. I think I wanted it for the sense that they were all in it together. Plus it might have been nice to have an outside influence that hadn't been in Oasis. Way I figure it though Jeff probably would be a more helpful individual in a practical way that Chris who also doesn't write tunes and also probably doesn't play any other instruments.

That's not entirely true, because none of the other members can play the drums like Chris. There's no point have Jeff as a full time member, they only need a bassist for live shows.

Jeff is quite the talent, but I would want him to focus more on his solo stuff! However, for what it's worth, he seems to be a pretty diverse player and would probably be a valuable asset.

I understand why Chris is in the band. But I think Jeff should be a permanent member as well. It would be good to have an external songwriter come in. I wonder how long Jeff and Matt will remain in the band and if they'll eventually become official members. I assume Matt won't but I think Jeff might in the end.

Four competent songwriters is a good thing! I would wish him to become a full-time member if Beady Eye succeeds commercially and earn enough money to accept another member. He seems talented.
