It's safe to say that, some weeks ago, when we heard BTL nobody would agree that the debut album would reach no. 1 I know we should remain skeptic since we only heard some previews, but judging by those do you think it will be a winner? Or maybe one of the singles will?

The charts are an incredibly hard thing to judge at the moment, especially with the genre of music we're talking about here. I definitely wouldn't put money on a number 1, top 10 or 5 for sure, but a number 1 is anything but certain.

Every Oasis album has reached #1 and there is a huge fan base out there and I'm pretty sure that all of these fans will be interested in Beady Eye and will buy the album to hear it. Not that I want BE to rely on this but I think thats the way it will be.
If the album leaks, or is played before the release then not as many will buy it when it's released. I would put big money on a Top 5 for sure and I've got a big hope it will be #1.

I'm pretty confident it will be number 1 unless there's a real big album out that week. All the oasis albums went nu Number 1 and the oasis fan base is like a football crowd following through thick and thin

Top 5 is a good bet.
#1 will depend on the competition I think

There has been rock records that have had #1s over the last couple of years. The album chart is easier to break that singles. Will Beady Eye have a #1 album? Probably. #1 Single? Nah.
Like I said, a lot will depend on a leak or the fact it is released in Japan on the 23rd. If that spreads then people may listen and either not be interested or hear it and download illegally or feel they've heard it and don't need to hear it again.

The album chart is dead. They are pretty much guaranteed number 1. The only way they won't is if Coldplay decide to release the same week or something.
The single has no chance though....no matter how big it is. Won't even go top 5

i think that if there's enough fans out there to sell out the dates beady eye announced in the uk in 30 minutes then there's definitely enough fans willing to buy their album for 9.99 or whatever it is. most oasis fans will probably buy it too and there's a lot of them

will it go #1 in the UK? i say yes, im pretty sure of it. will it crack the billboard 200 in the U.S. ? i have no freakin' clue. Will it debut #1 in the global albums chart(like Dig Out Your SOul did) ? i don't think so.

^^I'll say no way it gets Top 10 in America. People in America dont even know that BDI exists and there are far less Oasis fans here. When DOYS came out I had to remind ppl that they were still together. Radio stations wont push it as hard as anything by Oasis, because the name isnt there. It might get a few plays in some places, but not enough to get non-Oasis fans to actually buy it.
They'll get Top 20

^ Assuming they get a release here, which is still up in the air for some reason.

fuck! Just found this on NME: "She (Lady Gaga) intends to release a single in February, followed by the new album". Hope that album won't be there before mid-March.

I said i wasn't even sure if it'd crack the Billboard 200 . like you said, people here don't have a clue who Beady Eye is. They barely even knew about Oasis still being out there lol most people thought they had stopped years ago. anyhow, top 20 wouldn't be that bad i guess... it'd be awesome if the boys had some sort of "resurgence" with one of the tracks from the new album. It would have to be one of the more mellow ones imo. You know, kinda like Train(also an older band) did with "Soul Sister". God, i hate that fucking song lol but it could happen(wishful thinking =P )

Its hard to say, stereophonics had about 5 consecutive number 1s before keep calm and carry on reached 14 or something. How many copies do albums usually need to sell to get to #1 in the UK?

They released that in the beginning of the christmas market and it got swamped by the high sales around it. Their sales for Keep Calm & Carry On would have got the album top 2/3 guaranteed with a February release.

Its not even got a US release date scheduled and as it gets closer, it seems less and less likely that it will.
My bet is they're waiting for the UK reaction before releasing it in the states. Id not be surprised if there was a digital release in the states, but they probably do not have a US distribution deal yet.
Its not Oasis. While its completely fair to compare Beady Eye to Oasis in the UK in the commercial sense, its not the same thing concerning other countries, especially the US. Different beast, different rules.
If it is huge in the UK which is definitely a possibility, it will get released in the US eventually. Unless of course they're working on a distribution deal now, but the later it gets, the more likely scenario is that they're waiting until its released elsewhere and see how it does before deciding to tackle the US market.

How many copies do albums usually need to sell to get to #1 in the UK? anything between 30,000-200,000 copies depending on the competetion in that chart week. my guess is that it will chart around #4-10 and then quicklu drop out after 4 weeks unless any of the singles strike a chord with the public.

If TSOTL got to number 3, obviously it is impossible for "The Roller" to reach number 1. Not that it is that much worse than TSOTL, but BDI is no way gonna be bigger than Oasis in the charts. The tunes we've heard is quite good, but in no means groundbreaking.
Anything below #100 in the Billboard 200 is a huuge surprise.

Bring The Light has been hanging around the 200~ mark on itunes for a while. Which equates to about 1,000 sales a week. Are people crazy? ;D
