In the mid 90's Noel and liam had close to the same range. after a few years of strian due to Liam's singing style Liam lost some range. Noel continued to write songs in a key and range that fit his own voice. This put a strain on Liam and made his voice sound sometimes aweful. Now Liam is writting songs that fit his voice. he is writing songs in a key and range he is comfortable with. As long as he realizes his limitations he will be fine. His voice is still amazing. He just shouldnt try to do what he can't do. Thats when he sounds like kermit.

His vocals on the album clips sounds great, but they've clearly used pitching software.

They had the same technology for don't believe the trueth... Listening to that album... he was forcing it in most songs. The songs fit his voice more on this album. Except for Four Letter Word... He strains on that one......Songs he writes such as Song Bird and I'm outta Time sounded great live

I think that Noel writing in the wrong key is the reason for Liam sounding bad.
I think no key that Noel could have written would have sounded good around HC. Liams voice was just shot and he wasn't taking care of it.
Right now Liam is sounding exceptional in some clips...but not amazing in others. He sounded amazing the first time around but after a few listens you start to pick out the bits where he is straining...or @ least I did. I think they are signs that all the former issues are still not fully resolved and may bite them in the ass when it comes to live.
I think For Anyone is great because he isn't forcing it so it doesn't sound so strained or nasally. He need to figure out a way to sing that adds power without losing the tone. I think he needs to start singing from the diaphragm instead of the throat, personally. That way he could add some power and strength to it for the heavier songs without losing the tone

I think that Noel writing in the wrong key is the reason for Liam sounding bad. Don't you think they'd adjust the key to Liams voice? For all we know. most songs Noel's written could've been written in a different key to the version that made the album?

They should have but i doubt Liam with his ego would want to concede that he needed a key change. alot of these songs have a demo version with noel singing or noel sings it accoustically and the key never changes from the album version. This tells me that liam just forces it no matter what

If he sounds live like during DOYS-tour it's fine for me. We can't expect more.

I think he will sound better than the last tour. Simply cause the songs will be easier for him to sing ...im thinking it will sound much more like the SOTSOG days

Now Liam is writting songs that fit his voice. he is writing songs in a key and range he is comfortable with. As long as he realizes his limitations he will be fine. to me this doesnt make sense because liam wrote im outta time with a falsetto part which he clearly couldnt sing live. and others like guess god thinks im abel were a struggle for him. and i cant imagine for anyone (or kill for a dream, think ive got the names mixed up) will be very easy either

yeah it did and i am a huge fan of liams voice, but even though it sounded fantastic i still think it was a huge huge challenge for him to hit the high part at the end, even late on in the tour when his voice sounded mega.
although on the acoustic performance he nails it, as he does on all acoustic performances. anyone think maybe his voice is more suited for acoustic, quieter settings where he can here himself better now?
