This record sounds like DBBT without the heavy production. Lillywhite has done a remarkable job modernizing Beady Eye...where Oasis sounded heavy BDY sounds light and fresh.
WOW...

I know, but they're 30 second clips, man. You can't judge a record--good or bad--without hearing the whole thing.

well snap judgement is the clips that are overly gem and andy aren't great. And this won't be too popular, but i would have enjoyed another BTL style song. The piano, or the motown vibe

They do sound lighter. I'm liking the sound of it. Oasis did was a tendency to sound so heavy.
Having listened to the teasers I am increasingly feeling that they may have picked BTL more for it's difference from Oasis than for it's quality compared to the rest of the record. I still say that BTL is more probably gonna be more filler than highlight for me.
However I am hoping that we can move on a enjoy this new album WITHOUT going back and casting mud @ Oasis releases. They are over and done. It's non-productive to get annoyed about them.
Just enjoy DGSS for itself and stop referring back to Oasis is non-productive ways! I don't mind a bit of comparisons between BDI songs and Oasis songs because we'll mostly likely be comparing BDI to alot of bands...and Oasis will be a biggger influence on them than most bands seeing as they are all former Oasis members. But looking back and rewriting history is just stupid.

He implied that BTL was different from that rest of the album NOT that they reason they chose to put it out was that BTL was so different from Oasis. It could have been one of the best songs on the album AND been different from Oasis

It could have been one of the best songs on the album AND been different from Oasis Oh, my mistake I said it the wrong way. What I meant was this: by saying it Lillywhite implied that releasing BTL wasn't related to releasing a quality material (on the premise that Lillywhite knew the negative responses from fans of course). I agree with you that its complete difference from Oasis could have been the reason for BTL's release. They clearly intended to shock fans who were expecting something more familiar.

We theorised that it could have been so and I really hoped that was a reason. We can't say for certain that is true...but it's a relief that that is looking more likely to be the case with this new development

I know what you mean, DBBT may be the most calmed Oasis album, but still sounded heavy, Lilly made DGSP more light and relaxing.

i think DBTT is pretty great. Obviously i'll have to hear the whole album to judge it to DBTT. A lot of the songs on DBTT had little moments of brilliance that i hope DGSS will have

When i heard the 30 sec clips from Dig out your soul, when the album finally came out i had the same feelings for the songs i liked from the previews to the ones on the album. After bring the light i just think a lot of us were very nervous, now we've heard a fair few clips we're just more confident than before
