www.gigwise.com/photos/60201/15/Gigwise-Top-50-Songs-Of-201036 - Beady Eye, 'Bring The Light': Beady Eye's 'Bring The Light' has to be one of the most anticipated singles of the year and after the wait, Liam Gallagher certainly does not disappoint. With 60s inspired guitar riffs and hard hitting vocals, 2011 is set to be a good

That is pretty impressive. I wouldnt have put that song in my top 100 songs of the last month, much less year. Slow year?
What other lists does gigwise do? just wondering
Edit: Just went through the entire list. Weird ass list. Surprised Eminem's Not Afraid wasnt on it. I'm not a big rap fan, but that song is fuckin great. Really weird list. Especially, the top 10.

i'd say gigwise is pretty legit, and well respected when it comes to music news sites.

i really hate it, gotta be honest here. BTL might have very well been highly anticipated but it's not one of the best songs of the year, not even close.
i like the rest of the album tho, at least what i've heard from those 30 sec clips.

I agree. I probably haven't heard 100 NOTEWORTHY songs to rank myself. But the fact that a commercialized magazine has picked up on BDI and has ranked BTL high enough to score in their top 100 is only but encouraging, surely? I'm not saying it's an accurate reflection of the tune, cos I think the tune is average at best, but it's great to see it get recognized by the mainstream media.

Think I'm with you on this one.

It wouldn't be in the top thousand songs of this year.

^ Well, I don't hate Bring The Light, actually. It's okay, it's just nowhere near the top 50 songs (or top 100/500/etc.) of the year for me. Just because there's so much great music out there that something so mediocre can't compete with brilliant songs like Licenses To Hide by The Posies, as one example.

Terrible list - and unfortunately putting up BTL at 35 only proves it...
