Already mentioned in the Press forum, but worth expanding for more on-topic discussion, Channel 4 are broadcasting a video for The Roller on 10th January.
I presume this means this is the new single, unless they're doing another promo release.

Is this a Gem song? It is right?

Is this a Gem song? It is right? Yes. The NME described it as: "[having a] Lennon-esque piano hook (not to mention subtle melody steals from 'All You Need Is Love' and 'Nobody Told Me') that nailed-on single The Roller is built around.

The Roller?
Interesting then it was gathering dust for all those years and it seems Beady Eye have got it right?

I had assumed the new single was going to be Four Letter Word?! Based on the Play.com Pre-order? Unless that is wrong & The Roller will replace this? Or Channel 4 listings are wrong?
If it's all correct there are alot of video's for the songs man!!

I think "The Roller" is a 2nd teaser (like BTL).
The proper single could be Four Letter Word to release in Feb.

Four Letter Word could be the 3rd single of the album & they had already done the video for it where as when the DVD had to be submitted they had decided The Roller was the 2nd single but hadn't recorded the video for it at the time.

"Although Beady Eye have recorded a video for 'The Roller', it is not scheduled to be released as a single" From the Oasis Newsroom here on Live4ever

NME have changed the article on their website. Four Letter word is not being released as a single but they have made a video for it anyway which we get on boxing day.
The roller premiers on channel 4 i think 9th january. So from what i gather roller is still due to be the first single

Wouldn't releasing an old Oasis song as the first single gain BDI the opposite of the reputation they want? I don't know how many people know this, but if you think of it - a band that claims to be "nothing like Oasis" releases a unused old Oasis track as a single?

How many non-hardcore Oasis fans would really remember a little blurb from Noel almost 10 years ago naming the Roller as a possible song? I think think they should pick their best unreleased material regardless of when it was written. Expecting them to forsake all songs written pre-2009 is expecting a bit too much.

Just because it was written before doesn't mean they can put there stamp on the song anyway.

If the roller video premieres on the 10th Jan, we shouldn't have long to wait for the first radio play right?

No I think it will be same time. FLW first full play today and that is released 17th Jan so I expect first play of The Roller to be mid Jan then single out a few weeks later which would leave 2 or 3 weeks until DGSS.
Time will fly by, the album of 2011 will be in our hands before you know it.

My negative self tells me that it will be Sons of the Stage video. Hope not though I'm guessing you mean the original promo vid with the SOTS riff. If so then could be a good shout as we've not had that footage yet with Liam in the hat and it seems it wasnt used for the SOTS video.

DGSS special edition will include SOTS video en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Different_Gear,_Still_Speeding That's why I mentioned it. Most likely it will be it that Chanel 4 will debut. Plus, I don't think they had the time to shoot the video for The Roller

yeah I dunno what is happening.
Is the roller really being released as a single? or will CH4 just show sons of stage.
Non the less, If beady eye wanna be successful they need to release a proper single, which means a promo disk also made for radio.
So far BDI have not been played on radio

This is confusing. One possibility is theyre trying to release as many b-sides as possible before the live dates, to flesh out the setlist (that is if the roller is a single)

Well, it says on channel 4 website:
Beady Eye: Video Exclusive
Music programme showcasing The Roller, the debut music video from Liam Gallagher's band Beady Eye.
Next Episode: Tue 11 Jan, 12.10AM on Channel 4

that's like THREE VIDEOS in a little over 2 weeks. granted, the video for SOTS was just meh... it's still a video of the band "performing" the song so it counts for something. Hopefully now that they'll finally release their first "proper single", it'll come with a proper music video and not some cheap ass low budget crap .
I know Oasis never really had tons of awesome videos per se, but i wouldn't mind something similar to the likes of the Stand by Me or Go Let it Out videos.

So if channel 4 have confirmed it as the roller then when is everyone expecting the first radio play? From memory shock of the lightning was at least a week before the video premiere?
