Read it again. I didn't say better. I said more consistent. Definitely Maybe has much higher highs than DBTT, but DBTT is a smoother listen. I'll stand by that. Live Forever and Slide Away are miles better than anything on DBTT. You could throw Supersonic in as well. But Columbia and Shakermaker do drag on for me. There's no need to jump down someone's throat for an opinion. Maybe "tough guy act" was the wrong phrase to use, but the smack thing, the "Jesus weeping", dramatic nonsense like "How in gods earth" is just unnecessary. Columbia is a top top tune! One of several highlights on that album. In fact, the only song I can't stand on DM is Shakermaker. (Up In The Sky can get on my nerves at times, too - but other than those two tracks, the album is beyond incredible) Also, FWIW, these last few exchanges have had me in a fit of laughter again. "That is a serious question BTW". Comedy goldmine this forum is.

^ Isn't the point that if the Gallaghers didn't constantly take the bait from journalists they wouldn't be offered such obvious bait in the first place? It is part of who they are though. They could be more tactful...but then they wouldn't be nearly so fun to read. Sometimes I wish they wouldn't always rise to the occassion...but then I read interviews with 99% of the other pop acts and realise why I started to enjoy the Gallaghers in the first place.

He's provoking the journalists by constantly giving "amazing" as an answer to prove the point your arguing for. I love it. The man is a genius.

Youtube is acting up so I can't post it atm, but search youtube for "Noel Gallagher amazing interview" and you'll see him provoking the journalists by constantly giving "amazing" as an answer to prove the point your arguing for. I love it. The man is a genius. Yeah, I've seen it a few times. It was right after the Glastonbury fall-out. Pretty funny.

Maybe the Jesus/God thing was silly as I don't believe in either. As for the rest, I'll give you Shakermaker but Columbia is probably better than anything on DBTT which to me just drags and doesn't have a single song that excites me enough to think "I'll listen to that album, some good tunes on that". Well, neither do I. That's fine, man (NL4E had valid points as well). If you like those tunes then it's cool. I like them too. I don't hate them or anything. I've come to realize that we're all wired so differently when it comes to music, and I actually find that fascinating about human nature. Someone can hear DLBIA (like anyone on this forum) and think it's a mind-blowing song. Someone else can hear it and feel nothing, as hard as it is to believe. And that's okay, too. There's my little peaceful rant.
