Well thanks, that was an interesting read! I especially enjoyed the mini-review of the album. Now I'm really excited. The author called BTL "a little bit special", and the album "comfortingly familiar and yet frequently surprising". So I guess that's good news for the BTL-haters? It really seems now that BDI released BTL rather as a statement than it was the strongest song of the album. Also there is mentioned "The Roller" is a potential single. Can't wait for the album now. After reading this interview (best ever song written by liam, lennonesque pianhook, nailed-on single, big anthems, glam-metal, 12-bar blues, psychedelic lucid dream and of course BTL (which I quite enjoyed)) it's looking rather good! K+ for Mr. Monobrow of course

Thanks for the article Mr Monobrow.
I expected more than that but still a good read. The most interesting part was it seems Wigwam is a 6 minute psychedelic song written by Liam, that's almost anti what he has been writing for Oasis so already for me it becomes the most anticipated track.
Also glad to hear that its gonna sound familiar and that it will have plenty of rock'n'roll moments that we'll all be used to and a few moments that will act as a nice surprise.
That was another great article to wet the appetite, I'm massively excited for this album but is it just me or did Chris not speak in this interview or the more I think he hasn't spoke as a Beady Eye member where as all the others have.

Interesting, for sure. I guess we're guaranteed at least one "la la la" chorus from Liam on the album (Wigwam, by the sound of it.)

I reckon it will be one of several. As Noel said himself, the singer has always been good for a 'la la la la laaaaa'

these are the songs descriptions from the article:
The Roller - Lennon-esque piano hook (not to mention subtle melodic steals from "All You Need Is Love and "Nobody Told Me")
Kill For A Dream & The Beat Goes On - Big Anthems
Standing On The Edge Of Noise - Stack-heeled glam-metal (imagine Kiss playing through a PA comprised entirely of bullhorns)
Beatles And Stones - 12 Bar Blues
Wigwam - Six-minute psychedelic lucid dream, whose opiated woozieness and wistful "sha-la-la-la-la" chorus amounts to possibly the finest song Liam has ever written.

Also gives us some lyrics for "The Morning Son":
I'm here to show, I'll help you out It takes a lifetime, I've worked it out
Doesn't say who wrote that one though.

why compare the record to D. Maybe. DM is a 10 The new BE record will be a 5 at best. Any song on DM > bring the light Who knows. I'm guessing DGSS will be an 8/10 quality album. and this: any song on DGSS except BTL > BTL

Well i must admit i'm happy to read a positive review of the forthcoming album, sounds like there could be some great tunes on it.
Still a bit sceptical because its NME though. Past Oasis albums they preview it and praise it to high heaven and then slate it once its released. NME obviously want an exclusive with BDI to sell lots, BDI say yes but make sure you dont slate it, so who knows how much truth is in the article.
But despite all that yeah i must admit it reads well and has me excited so its worked!

sounds really good.
I was already looking forward to the album, and now with that small amount of description it's looking very promising.
Not sure if the "Show me your love " song will be Wigmam - not sure where Wigmam would come into a song like that.
and Liam has expanded on his lyrical prowess - he's gone from La La La's - to SHA LA LA LA'S LOL

Could "Wigwam" be "If There's A God" -- I know we have a clip of Noel singing that, but he sings: "If there's a god, you'll be crashing when you burn.....singing out SHA LA LA LA LA"
Liam written, and meant for Noel to be sung? Probably not, as 'sha la la la la' can fit in with anything, but it's something to speculate about.....

That thought entered my head earlier, but during the commentary for LDSMD, Liam didn't pipe up at all when the track was being played. Nice idea, but I doubt it.

NME have always championed the 'up and coming' [Beady Eye have yet to prove their mettle: it's early days yet] only to knock down the 'big guns' [at least verbally] when they hit the big time. Cynical and pretentious, the UK music press has been like this since the late 70s at least.

I some what encouraged by this, but I still dont want to get my hopes up. This happens with just about every "Oasis" release. A few people review it and gives discriptions, I and many give ideas of how it might sound, or better yet how we or I want it to sound, and then it becomes this shiny beacon.
I just dont want to get too up for this album, like with DOYS. I remember when DOYS came out and Noel & Liam were praising it and people were comparing it to Revolver and saying that there were at least 3 or 4 classics. And the thing was that it just wasnt Liam and Noel who were saying it, or even close friends, but the music press. And what happened, an album came out that was only decent at best.
Words, descriptions, song titles, and song lyrics are just that until there's music to attach to it. If you had read me the lyrics to all the songs or the descriptions of all the songs on SOTSOG, I would lieave thinking it was the greatest album ever. I'm not saying it wont be good or great, I'm just saying that I'm not getting too up for anything.

Short, fragmented lyrics, ala AGN.... You can't read into that really, I mean it could be Andy's work and be a Turn Up The Sun type thing. The lines in the verses for that were pretty short and sweet. Until February and we hear the record and see the DVD then we won't know the ins or outs of any songs.

Considering it rhymes "out" with "out", I'm putting my money on Liam.
