From bouncing to Band Of Skulls at SXSW, marvelling at the return of The Libertines at Leeds Festival, to serenading with Beach House at the Manchester Cathedral, there’s been plenty of great music Live4ever has been lucky enough to witness over the past twelve months. But what has been the best of 2010? Who knows, we’re not here to tell you that, we’re sure you’ll have your own defining anthems already locked away, untouchable, in the memory banks. No, what we want to do is share some of the tracks and albums which have had us singing, smiling, gasping and above all dancing like a lunatic to during the year in the hope they might just have the same effect on you. Once you’ve been through this part of our list, why not do us a favour and recommend your own stand-outs from 2010. Leave us a comment below telling us what has rocked your 2010 to be in with a chance of winning a selection of prizes from acts featured on our own rundown. The Twlight Sad - The Room (I"m sure it's recommended by Elias!) A great, great band. One of my most favourite bands. As it says on the Webzine, they're one of the UK's most underrated band. People who never heard of them don't know what they're missing!
I've seen Chapel Club at London Calling in April this year and they just supported Two Door Cinema Club in Melkweg last month. Quite good band.
I saw Slow Club at London Calling 2 years ago. They were really happy to play in a full packed upstairs hall of Paradiso cos they only had 5 people at their gig night before.
and... Who has recommended "my" Broken Records? I've been listening to them since January 2008, saw them 6 times (3 times on a guestlist) and gonna see them in February again. They're just fantastic.
webby, you can't belive it, but Everything Everything and Broken Records shared a same gig, at Camden Barfly in July 2008. I was at this gig and third band who played at that night was Airbone Toxic Event from LA. I didn't know where was the entrance of the venue, so I asked a guy who was standing outside, chatting with a couple of people. Later I found out that was a drummer from Everything Everything and the singer and the bass player from Airbone Toxic Event.
Sorry for this long post. Great stuff!

mimmi, I knew you wouldn't forgive me if I didn't include Twilight Sad Also, you've had me listening to plenty of Broken Records' stuff since you recommended them to me so I always planned to get them involved as well. Glad you're enjoying the lists.

3. "High Violet"
Well deserved! It's definitely one of my best 10 albums of the year. I got into The National in 2007 with "Boxer" (still brilliant album) and don't like them to becoming some hype with High Violet cos to me they're the same band which made such a fantastic album like Boxer 3 years ago. Finally I saw them live for the very first time in July this year. Keep creating great music, The National.
