How common is it for a band to play material from an album before the album comes out?
If Beady Eye is really going to play just their own stuff on the tour (ie, just off the album), they'll have to release the album before March, right?

They are, the album is rumored to be released the 28th February...
I'm wondering what songs they're going to use to play a full setlist... The album is 12 songs, + 4 bsides max. That's 16 songs, which is not very much, isn't it? Shame they won't perform TOTS, SB, BWTB and/or IBIA etc... Why wouldn't they? It are their songs...

Very rare for a band to tour an album before it's release. It's quite dodgy as you don't know what the audience reaction will be. U2 came close in 1997 with Pop and the dodgy Popmart tour. I think Beady Eye will release their album about one week before the opening night in Glasgow.

Wonder if they'll play SOTS I'm sure they will. They don't have the catalogue to not be playing recorded songs IMO

Well they played Heathen Chemistry songs way before the album came out didn't they? And Morning Glory I believe Yeh they played 2 songs at Poole Lighthouse and Glastonbury 2002 - Meaning of Soul and Hung in a Bad Place - I think? ?? But that was before they had settle on the album and then re-recorded it.

I think it was Gem who recently stated they won't be playing Oasis material. Prepare yourselves for short gigs They have the time for one single in January, with 2 more b-sides. Even if they put 12-13 songs on the album, it still means a gig won't be longer than 15 songs.

Songbird might get played? Liam sung it on the last few Oasis tours.
Born On A Different Cloud might get played. A cracking song on the Heathen Chemistry tour.
I'm Outta Time is another good song that might get played.
These are all Oasis songs, but they deserve to be played. All wrote by Liam.

I think the 28th is the best bet, they've been in the business long enough to know that playing the songs live before the album is just gonna reduce their value and reduce the excitement and hype surrounding the release
