Is it safe to say it will leak a month before the release (minimum)? when was DOYS leak? when the BDI leaks, will you listen? i have found the times i held out on listening to the leaked album has always been a much much better experience overall. thoughts?

I dont get all this 'wait for the official date' stuff. The last 3 Oasis albums have leaked and i've managed to get hold of a copy early (And everytime i then buy the original) and the excitement is just as great as if it was months later when its officially released.
If the Beady Eye album leaks i'll be listening tons but also buying it when its officially out.
I dont get why waiting makes it better. We're talking about an album you hear early, not waiting to have sex after marriage etc !

I'll listen...and unless it's a total turd I'll buy it when it comes out.
I don't get how waiting until you buy it makes it better either.

Personally, I will refuse to listen. I mean, fair play to everyone who will download the leak and listen to it. But I would rather wait and just buy the offical version. Reminds me of a spoiler for your favourite television programme. Some people will read the spoilers but others would rather wait and be surprised.

Of you read a spoiler then you don't get the full effect of watching it. But if you download a leak...you get the music. There is no difference other than the artwork... Unless it bad quality audio...

It's the exact same music and you'll listen to it the exact same way, just earlier.

well if recall correctly when DOYS first leaked, it was the japanese Sony music website that released 20 second clips from each song or something like that, everybody(for the most part) listened to it and i then knew i'd be purchasing the album. Then the whole thing was put on Myspace for everyone to take a listen to the album in its entirety. I didn't and i waited for it to come out, then bought it and only then listened to DOYS from start to finish.
With BeadyEye, i am afraid i wont be able to do the same just because of the uncertainty of it all. This first single(BTL) didn't help at all. When TSOTL was released everyone knew it'd be a good album, maybe not great but definitely not bad. With BDI's album people are unsure of what the music will be like, what kind of sound they're going for and all that stuff. i will definitely listen when(or if) there's a leak before i buy anything.

I'm in the same boat as you. I told all my friends about Beady Eye and when that first single came out I was embarrassed. Their album has to have a couple gems so I wouldn't fret about it. Anyway I'll listen to the album regardless of when it comes out. I'm dying to hear some more....

I'll listen to it when it leaks just because I want to come on here and either bash it to holy fuckin hell or defend it against all comers. This forum is what really makes these releases more exciting for me. I love the debate and I love when people defend their points. Its great when points are defended admirably and its funny and frustating when people defend them badly. And I've been in both boats.
So I will listen to it, not just for the music, but also for the great sport of debating it. Whether its good or bad.

I'm tempted to wait.
Afterall, we're going to have at least 2-3 more Beady Eye songs (including bsides) before the album comes out

didn't listen to d.o.y.s. leak, won't be listening to the beady eye leak either... and trust me, it does make it better... the official release day is very exciting! (like a holiday) ... but i'm 'old school' , so whatever... to each his own....
that being said, it will only be better IF i can find it in the store on release day... my local best buy had only ONE copy of time flies the day it was released... so if i have to order it online from amazon, after waiting all that time, i probably will listen on youtube or something like that, while i wait for the cd to arrive in the mail.

I'll be listening.
I seem to remember DOYS only been leaked fully about a week before the official release.

(like a holiday) ... but i'm 'old school' , so whatever... to each his own.... and and trust me, it does sound just as good the night it leaks. I remember when dig out your soul leaked, think it was one song at a time quite late one night. Was exciting as anything hearing that material for the first time and then joining in on the forum on the view of the songs. Dont think the official day is more exciting as most people will have heard the album. What do you do when they play a song on the radio early to drum up excitement, turn it off ? Run out the room as you want the album to sound completely 'new' when you get it ? Come on. When Be Here Now came out Radio 1 played two songs a few weeks before it came out, i remember taping those and playing those to death. Its 2010, getting a leak is just as exciting as when it does officially come out

I've listened to every Oasis album before it came out since SOTSOG and bought them all on the day they came out - can't see how this album will be any different

I'd listen to the leak and then buy it, too. Otherwise I'd have to avoid this forum (which all of you would appreciate, but I wouldn't) as reading the comments before I listen to it myself would act as a spoiler, and could even negatively impact my opinion of the album without judging it for myself, first!
Also, discussing it is part of the fun, and who wants to miss out on that early rush on here?

Exactly its also good getting the banter on the forum, seeing what your mates say about it etc. Much better than sticking your head in a hole so you dont hear it !
Just think of the release date as 2 months earlier rather than later. Its the songs i love, i'm not so fussed by waiting for the actual cd/booklet etc (I'll still buy it).
Just dont get it at all why people in the year 2010 need to wait
