Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan has given Liam Gallagher’s new band Beady Eye his rock seal of approval. Leicester lad Tom has had a private listen to the group’s debut album and reckons it’s going to blow fans away. Speaking about the disc, which isn’t out until next year, Tom, 29, said of the 39-year-old: “Liam came to my room about three months ago and put it on a little stereo and you know I’m just buzzing for him. “He’s really done something different from Oasis so I’m really pleased he’s getting out there. His album’s fantastic and its not Oasis any more, it’s Liam’s band. “I support him all the way with that. I don’t think he cares [what people think], he just wants to make music.” Speaking to Absolute Radio DJ Ben Jones, 33, the Kasabian rocker says his crew are feeling similarly inspired. The gang will headline Sunday’s stage at next year’s Isle Of Wight festival and Tom is telling fans to expect the unexpected. He explained: “If people are expecting West Ryder or Underdog they’ve got another think coming because it’s nothing like the last record. “We’re not the same band any more. We always keep changing. At the beginning of this year we went on tour to Australia and we had a few ideas. “It all stems from Serge, he plants the seeds and this sort of giant beanstalk starts forming and then we take it in the studio and start to lay down the drums and go from there.” Tom has promised you won’t see him on I’m A Celebrity, like Madchester legend Shaun Ryder, 48. He added: “Shaun is amazing, just class to watch, you know. “He’s a genius, but I could never do that to myself.” Source: www.dailystar.co.uk

I'm just not believing or getting myself up for anything that anyone says. This reminds when DOYS came out and everybody was talking about that they heard it and it sounded like the next Revovler.
The only way I'd believe anyone is if Damon Albarn some how heard it and say that it was amazing, short of that not believing anyone for the moment. lol

hmm... "nothing like Oasis" and "something totally different..." geez, are these quotes supposed to calm people down? lol if anything, this worries the shit out of me. i fucking like Oasis's sound. i really don't know what to think. different/nothing like Oasis is exactly what BringTheLight is and i fucking hate that song. i'll definitely give the album a listen before(IF) i buy it.

Toms hardly gonna go slaggin it off no matter how shit it really is. I hope he's not just saying it tho, I'd like nothing more than Liam to get the musical recognition he deserves after so many years in Noel's shadow. If the album is as strong as some of the earlier Oasis tunes they wrote like Guess God Thinks I'm Abel, Turn Up The Sun and A Bell Will Ring then I think I'd probably really dig it.
Really curious to hear what Noel has to say about all the Beady Eye stuff, but like Tom he's probably not gonna be slaggin it off cause he's still mates with Gem n Andy. Curious to hear how Noels solo stuff is sounding too...

That's a warning sign if you ask me. I hope I'm wrong.

Kasabian kiss Oasis arse so much it's pathetic. If I was in a famous band, I would say Oasis were the band that matters most to me, and that would be it. Don't get me wrong, I like Kasabian, but they need to tone it down.

kasabian are hardly good judges of great music. didnt their last album break the record for most filler songs on a record?

I got a really bad feeling after hearing what tom said. Its like a sympathy statement isn't it? Different doesn't always mean good or better.

So people who haven't heard the album are posting on here and disagreeing with the opinion of someone who has heard it? How the hell can any of you have an opinion on someone else's opinion when we haven't heard the album and they have. Wait until we hear it then make judgement although you can already tell that most on here have already made their mind up about it.

I love Oasis, want Beady Eye to succeed but i'm not believing anyone at the moment. Tom from Kasabian has never said anything negative, if Liam brought out an album of nursery rhymes Tom.M would still say its rockin and some of the best work hes ever heard. Same for Alan McGee. You cant take their views seriously can you ? Its like when Liam says every latest album is the best ever. I hope its a success but i wont take too much notice of totally biased pro-reviews (just as i wouldnt take any notice of a negative review of the album by say Damon Albarn or Robbie Williams!)

Before I even read this news from the Kasabian camp I already knew that BE was not going to sound like Oasis. It seems like most everyone on here is excited to hear Oasis minus Noel. I don't think that is what we are going to get. If you're looking for something closer to Oasis it will be Noel's solo album as his written & sung songs on the last few albums & b-sides seemed more like Noel solo than Oasis anyway.

I just found the album to be repeating itself when i was 4-5 tracks in and then it has a good ending, but the middle contains a lot of filler imo

One of the perks of being in a successful Rock band: getting advance tasters of hotly-touted waxings from happening bands.
Oh yeah, and the dosh, adulation and free groupies can be a bonus too........
