Is it Liam's arrogance?
Is that why so many of you don't like this new band? If so, what the flying fuck is wrong with you? You should know by now that Liam's attitude is part of the deal. Do you want them to fail just because of that?
I'm really excited about this new band.
...and another thing. If Gem and Liam can't pull it off, then I'm sure that Andy can. "The Nature of Reality" was a shitty tune (Noel's choice) but BDI is essentially Andy's wettest dream. Listen to hurricane #1 and you'll see what I mean. I'm expecting Andy to seriously overachieve in the songwriting department for this one.
Don't fucking worry

Will you calm down, its like you've got tourettes or something.
What is wrong with us ? Nothing, just some of us arent that keen on the song. You dont like the nature of reality, none of us are posting a new thread slating you for that. Just some of us arent happy with the first tune from BDI.
Nothing to do with Liams attitude, hes always been like that.
I might hear another BDI tune next month and love it. Just not keen on this first one.

Douche? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D that's funny to us Brits lol I don't think anyone is getting at Liam's attitude though - that's why we love him (man love is great ) But I do think some on here have been too harsh with Bring The Light. Wait for the album and all will see, I'm confident the lads will come through ;D

Its nothing to do with Liams arrogance. Its the tune is dreadful, i mean children can write better songs than this, its a travesty and probably the worst debut single ive ever heard by anyone ever. Its nothing to do with it not sounding like oasis, its the tune is just shocking, uninspired. i mean lyrics were never the important part of the tunes but jesus,.....im taking you drinking...you having a laugh, liam is shit vocally on this song, his songwriting is not great anyway, meaning of soul aside, gem is fucking shocking and always has been, hes like a lottery winner and not half the guitar player he thinks he is and what has andy bell really ever done, i mean really? jimmy page my arse! hurricane number 1 were appaling overall, heavy stereo the same, ride had like 2 songs...why do people think so highly of these two, i think they made oasis better musically but songwriters they are not

As much as I respect that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I think some people disliked Beady Eye as soon as Liam said that he was start a new band.
They kinda had that thing that unless Beady Eye delivered a modern day Live Forever they new it was gonna be shit anyways.
Strangely enough, I've noticed that a lot of new listeners get into Beady Eye and really like their music, whereas Oasis fans have a hard time adjusting to the new sound. And for the record, it is a new sound. At least Bring The Light is. Oasis never had a tune like that.
I'm really thankfull to Liam and the rest of the lads that they had the balls to release Bring The Light as a first single, distancing themselves from Oasis.

It's got nothing to do with Liam's attitude (although it WAS more bearable when he was in a band worthy of his arrogance) It has more to do with the substandard song he's championing.

To be honest, I'm glad Liam is still arrogant. It's one of the things that make Beady Eye exciting! Imagine how weird it would have been if he suddenly became all humble and stuff like that, not to mention how boring it would be.

I think they are better than people give them credit for. Gem does appear to be constantly trying to write Beatles songs but him and Andy are great guitarists especially.

It's definitely not Liam's arrogance that turns them off, if it was they probably wouldn't be Oasis fans in the first place. It's the song that they don't like, plain and simple. I don't know what it is about it but the song just doesn't seem to fit the typical Oasis fan's tastes. I like it, but I feel like I'm in the minority on here, unless the people who don't like it really are THAT much more outspoken. There is a much higher proportion of people who do like the song that aren't Oasis fans though, which is promising.

I'm sick of people desperately defending Bring The Light and begging people to "give it a chance". I wish these people were more tolerant.

I really dont know why people dont like it. I mean me personally I think I have varied music taste. I love Oasis, any punk, anything thats classic 60's and I actually love music from the 50's like Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, Ray Charles, Carl Perkins, and Elvis, but I'm just not big on this song. I think its okay maybe good, but I dont think its the classic that people are saying or that its the pile shit that people are saying.
The lyrics for me are crap. I've posted before that I wasnt expecting amzing poetic lyrics, I mean come on this is Liam, but I was expected better lyircs than the some of the throw away rhymes put in there. Noel was pretty bad with the throw away lines, but the ones in BTL are pretty cringe worthy.
I do think that some people did make up their minds from the very begining that they would hate no matter what, but I do think that some people also made up their minds that they would like it no matter what. Its only human and really can't be blamed.

After the Jam split, bassist Bruce Foxton came out with a single in 1983 called 'Freak' which was painfully bad and embarassing: Foxton's tune reeked of desperation, and all elements of the 'song' were 'cranked up to 11', which refelected the neurosis of the single.
'Bring the Light' is along similar lines [although nowhere near as bad as Foxton's solo single] with most musical elements [piano/guitar tuned up to the max, with a similar reliance on over-repetitious lyrics towards the end of the tune]. I'm sure that Liam and the others have got the initial angst out of their system, and if they have got it in them to turn out better material, this will become evident before long.
Best of luck to them.

let's get the facts straight -
No-one is saying Bring The Light is a masterpiece Some are saying it's complete crap A lot are saying it's decent / good
I'd go with the average and say it's good - not overly so, but good!
The press reviews are certainly going that way also, which I think is the fairest result for Bring the Light.
