has actually made the song more tolerable/even 'good' for me, boo, hiss.
It's really not that bad, speaking as one of the biggest critics from the beginning.
The lyrics are still dreadful, but there's a certain energy with it that isn't the worst thing in the world.
I like the hammering of the piano and Liam's agressiveness on the outro- didn't really come across in the song to me for whatever reason- listening straight ahead the first ten times.
This prolly belongs in the "grower" thread, sans the video angle, but oh well.

I don't see how you can not see the song for what it is without the video?
The video doesnt really add to the song because I thought at the start that the song was a good rocker.
you just have to turn your speakers up to fully appreciate the song and what it gives.

The girls certainly add a lot of glamour to it! That would never have happened in an Oasis video.

The girls certainly add a lot of glamour to it! That would never have happened in an Oasis video. Champagne Supernova had female dancers. But I agree that the overall style is quite different from the oasis videos, nothing special though.

I feel like the sound quality is better in the video, and I definitely agree that there is a certain energy to it. I believe they're having fun playing that song in the video.

^^ I never knew somebody could milk a single riff so much. Gets a little repetitive at the end, but that's to be expected when you make 3 minutes out of a 22 second clip. Better than I expected.

Good video, nice and simple. None of that MTV drama, just the band doing their thing.
I love how Liam sounds particularly aggressive in the last round of"Come On'!s". I've been listening to a lot of the Clash and D.O.A (legendary Canadia punk band) since BTL came to us and I can't help but think how terrific Liam would be for some old-school punk rockers. Another Headshrinker and I'd be very very pleased!

As for that Riff Remix...not bad at all. though I think it woudl benefit greatly from some minor shortening, to about 2.5 mins even.

This song has pull!!...first few listens were good and it keeps growing and growing!!. As for the lyrics....it's not all that bad!...."they fit the song"...atleast you know what he's conveying...fast words for a fast track!!........and for what Lillywhite said about the record being "very varied"...I'm even more pumped!!.....great video too!!

I agree with the original post...After my first few listens of BTL, i though Liam sounded too dry, washed, and drowned. Now, after seeing the video, he seems to sound a lot better (as well as the entire song).
Slate me for this, but this song presents a sort of Rock N Roll Star type vibe(while not nearly on par).

Simply not true. The majority of the comments are positive. Further, "Likes" outnumber "dislikes" TEN to ONE, like it or not, look right under the video:

I felt the same way when I saw the video. The song became more tolerable when I saw how cool Liam and the gang looked on stage.

I'm the opposite to be honest. I dislike the song more with each listen, and the video does nothing for me. All about opinions I suppose.
