A poster has noted this in another thread that BTL sounds a lot like White Light White Heat by the Velvet Underground. I know that people are saying that its a Great Balls of Fire rip off, but its not. Sounds like it, but its not. I think its closer to this. The piano is upped a lot more on BTL, but if you just focus on the piano part in White Light White Heat you will hear it.

I'm not saying that its a note for note rip, but there are a lot of similarities. And plus I think its interesting to compare considering that Oasis have used a Velvet Underground track (I'm Waiting For The Man) before. So how close do you guys think it is.?

I hear what your saying I suppose.
The Racontuers did this tune with Lou Reed at the 2006 mtv awards too, that was cool.

The first day we got to hear BTL, I found myself humming the tune only to find it morph into White Light White Heat. The similarities really struck me then but no one else seemed to notice it in the masive 25 page thread on our first impressions, so i thought it was just me.

just a heavy piano and beat for me
The actual piano tune is different, similar but they would be because it's just a basic piano tune played heavily.

hi it was me who noticed the similarity first. the chord change is the exact same in the verse E and then B, only BDI have held the B for longer (they had to try and change it a bit). Sing white light / white heat at the start of each line like this if you still dont get it:
I been alive (White light)
I see no point (White heat)
I get the car (White light)
Its just a way (White heat)

I've bee trying to find tabs for both songs so I can compare. All I can find are guitar tabs. And on those tabs the strings are in dropped D tuning I believe. I've been trying to find Whit Light/ White Heat in a regular tuning with no success.

Sorry, but aren't they both just traditional rock'n'roll rhythms? There are tons of songs like these.
