Hahaha, I still remember the moment when I heard Bring the light for the first time. I thought they are kidding. 😶

Listened to DGSS for the first time in years yesterday. Was thinking it wasn't that bad actually, until standing on the edge of the noise came on 😲😱😳.

^Yeah never been keen on that song.
Theres quite a few Beady Eye ones i like, the two openers on the album (FLW, FoTF) are superb. Millionaire i've always liked, Roller was dull. Really liked the second album, Evil Eye i wish was on the actual album itself not the deluxe one, shame so many non-Oasis type fans probably wont ever hear that song.
Think Liams current songs sound more professionally made, felt DGSS sounded more basic/simple
Hated Bring the light when i first heard it, just sounded like Great Balls of Fire. Must admit it grew on me a bit and was always one of the popular ones at gigs.
Always thought of Beady Eye as mostly Oasis b-side type of music which was fine for me. Good to hear different songs. But yeah hated SOTEOTN, one song i never liked from day 1

Everyone asks Liam about an Oasis reunion, maybe we will see a Beady Eye reunion one day.

My only explanation for this was that they entered a time machine and went back to the 60´s, hence why the new era in music happened.
Still, fucking Bring the Light when you had Four Letter Word, ffs.

Four Letter Word Millionaire The Roller Wigwam The Beat Goes On The Morning Son Sons of the Stage World Outside My Room In the Bubble with a Bullet Flick of the Finger Soul Love Soon Come Tomorrow Shine a Light Start Anew The World's Not Set in Stone Back After the Break Off at the Next Exit Girls in Uniform Evil Eye (White Smoke)
Those songs were good or had potential (would have been good if recorded with Noel in the studio). I know Beady Eye failed, but I'm glad most of these songs were released.

He's probably only want to use the following. - Four Letter Word - Flick of The Finger - Soul Love

Some more acclaimed, overrated indie bands don't even have 2-3 good tracks per album (Catshit & The Bottlemen, I'm looking at you). Actually, I'm still enjoying around 8 or 10 of those tracks to be honest.

Do we only judge bands by their shittest songs now? Guess I better give up on music, everythings fucking shit, even Oasis. PYMWYMI? Probably All In The Mind? What a shit band.
Yeah, SOTEOTN/Two Of A Kind/Wind Up Dream etc are shit (How many 2017 cool points do I get for that?) they also put out some good stuff and played some cracking gigs. They were nowhere near as bad as people like to make out, I'm convinced people just slag them off to feel part of the group and/or to feel hip and and you know, too cool/clever for that type of thing. Their albums got a decent reception when they first came out, 6/10's with critics, 7/10's in general with fans. But like with everything else now people like to over analyze and over listen to/watch/read/whatever things too much and pick apart flaws and judge things by how much they enjoyed it after their 100th listen/watch etc
I remember that most of us liked DGSS/BE for a few weeks after they first came out, did you get over excited listening to them at first or have you just overplayed and over analyzed something that's just meant to be spontaneously enjoyed and not thought about too much? I reckon it's the latter.

I would love to hear the original I Stand Alone (The Morning Son), I think it would be like It's a Crime vs Let There Be Love.

I Stand Alone became The Morning Son. Jim or @thecrimsonrambler can tell you more about this I think.

What do we know about it? I hadn't heard there was a different version. I Stand Alone became The Morning Son. Jim or @thecrimsonrambler can tell you more about this I think. I Stand Alone was a rumoured title for a single back In 2004. When Noel was doing promotion for the first High Flying Birds album he was asked about Different Gear, Still Speeding and he commented on The Roller saying there was a version of it with him on drums but for one reason or another it never got properly recorded. He then mentioned that the Morning Son had been around for a good few years too. It was a theory I Stand Alone could be an early version of The Morning Son due to the timescale and obvious lyric but it has never been 100% confirmed by any members of the band(s).

I'm slowly warming up to Beady Eye. They had some good songs: The Morning Son, The Beat Goes on, Soul Love, Back After the Break, Off at the Next Exit. Too bad they had quite a few forgettable ones too.
