I really dig this new tune they've put. It's not a classic and the lyrics are simple but it's honest, energetic and fun. I do have one problem though..............
The only fear I have about the Beady Eye project is if it becomes a bit patchwork. This release sounds nothing like the 22sec preview we've had and nothing I expect to hear on the album especially with the dynamic of the band (2 guitarists, bassist - no full time piano player).
We've also heard a lot of influences branded about. Jerry Lee Lewis, T Rex, Bowie and the Rolling Stones and not to mention there is bound to be a bit of The Beatles and Stone Roses in there too. So what is this record gonna sound like? I just cannot have an idea.
One thing I will say is that to the fans who didn't like this song, I doubt we will hear a song in a similar vein to this purely because there are loads of expected styles and influences that have been talked about and need covering in the record.

I understand what you're saying. BDI should try to define the kind of music they make - not a wild mixture of 50s-70s bands ripped off. Let's just hope the album will be more consistent than BTL and the teaser are.

Think of the White Album - it's all over the place but it works because whatever they did - the songs were good

I think they have kinda freed themselves from the Oasis "cocoon", if you see what I mean.
They haven't got any restraints, so I'm expecting even more upbeat and new twists on the songs.
Looking forward to the album now especially.

It isn't an Oasis thing to have a collection of songs that hang together. And commonality amongst the songs does not = sameness. Themes and flow are something that every artist thinks about.
I agree. I hope that they have put some work into making it into a true album and not just a collection of songs. The White Album was innovative...if this is a record full of true innovation not just references of musicians that Oasis never referenced then fair enough. But I don't think that the songs are going to be of a caliber that it is going to work nearly as well.
