Was just wondering whether Beady Eye would play any festivals, at least here in the UK. Oasis got themselves to the stage where they were big enough not to do festivals although they would occasionally.
Now obviously they wouldn't be headlining but I could see them playing second top off the back of who they are (like Them Crooked Vultures). The thing that gets me is I don't think Liam would be into doing all the festivals, and not being the main event.
What d'you all think?

Not sure? I don't think Liam is a fan of festivals but seeing the way they have released their first song solely on their website (like a small band would) - it makes me think they could do the smaller stages at festivals? ?

I think that they should and will. It's great exposure to the kind of audience that will buy their music and they have a big enough name that they will start at a repectable level on the circuit.
A bit sad to think of LAG playing second (most likely) on the bill to bands like the Kaiser Chiefs or Keane a bit sad really.
It's been so long since anyone would have even considered putting Oasis second on a bill to anyone. They were a headliner without question around the world. We'll see how Liam reacts to that. But although Noel always portrayed Liam as a bit petualant and diva-ish...I don't think that Liam really is that way. He actually strikes me as pretty practical now-a-days. I think he'll be up for it. I think alot of that sense of entitlement left with the drug-fueled 90's.
I know that Noel always said that his favorite spot was actually second on the bill. With the concert starting with the sun up and setting during your set. Maybe Liam shares that opinion.
Wouldn't it be crazy if BDI opened for Kasabian? It'll have been a year since Kasabian wewre opening for Oasis. That'd be a bit nuts.

I totally agree. I think they'd be missing a huge opportunity to step out on their own from Oasis and Noel's shadow by not doing the festival circuit.
When you mentioned Beady Eye opened for Kasabian it made me think about the rumours of The Who and The Stones both possibly touring next year. If I were Liam I'd be doing whatever it takes to get on those tours!

Here's hoping they do some summer festivals!
They can do V fest 2011 and make up for Oasis no show in 2009!

They should DEFINITELY do some festivals, and do it without ego - who cares if they headline or not? Been there, done that.
What does Liam Gallagher have to prove about headlining big shows any more? Play for the joy of playing, man.

Not sure about festivals but they might do Teenage cancer trust next year, Didn't Liam say he'd be up for it next year because he couldn't do it this year?

I definitely see them playing summer festivals and maybe support a huge act like The Who or Stones next year.
Best way to play big audiences (possible new fans) and have some decent promotion for their album. They should also do some tv shows and a few radio gigs to get some airplay on the radio.
Looks like they got a better marketing than in the Oasis days. I bet we'd never get a free mp3 from Noel as a teaser for a forthcoming release ;D

I suppose, they could come on stage first. You know, when no one is around.

It'd be awesome if they did support Kasabian or The Who. I don't like the new tune, but I'd definitely see them if they hit America with some tour dates.

Can't see them doing any massive gigs though - even festivals really.
Plus, every gig will have thousands chanting Oasis lol

any rumours about some festival shows?
isle of wight is listed under "festivals 2011" on the beady eye homepage, so there should be some announcements for the summer over the next few weeks.

Liam has said in the past that he loves the V Festival and has been loads of times just for the weekend when Oasis were'nt playing. They're only doing Isle of Wight because of the who and hendrix links. I can see them doing Glasto, T In The Park and V Festival
