I see a lot of Oasis being shocked by the first internet release of Beady Eye.
This thread is one not to slag of the song but seriously discuss the song, the lyrics, the influences etc.
I'll give a start:
This song is something Oasis would not have released, but it somehow fits Liam i think. It definitly sound retro 50 early 60ies. I hear J. L. Lewis through the song, not that much of Beatles/Stones. I like the refreshment, Still hope for some nice Beatle/Lennon influenced ballads/rcok n roll to come, and knowing en listening to Liam, there definetly will be some like those on the album.
Anyone has figured out the lyrics and chords already?
Now it's your turn : .........................

I posted this in another thread but it fits here:
I do not mind the song. I especially like how it does not sound like vintage Oasis. It's something new and different. I take a large interest in seeing where else Beady Eye will take us.

Agree, and it somehow has this fresh sound Oasis once used to have : That energy, feel good lads, street raw arrogance and absolute romance in it. Makes me feel like listening to a more mature but very fresh Fade Away, Headshrinker, Stay Young ... or something ...

I like the song... as an album track. Definitely not a good first single though. More people would be in this thread if this wasn't the first song and they realized that the rest of the album isn't going to be full of songs like this one.
Some people expect nothing from Beady Eye now that they've heard this song. Now don't get me wrong, I don't know why they would release a song like this as their first, but my expectations for the album are just the same as they were before. And people who say Little James is better than this are full of shit.

its not bad, its not a classic by a long shot. im happy that theyve got their own sound though instead of trying to recreate oasis

Is it me, or is it the first time we can hear Liam sing a bit wispering, "tender" and softly... in the end of the song in this baby c'mon bit? (different from how he sang Let There Be Love?)
And ... I can remind some Lennon solo songs having this same vibe ...
In the end, most influences come from late 50ies...
Is that only me thinking these things ?

Exactly, this wont be the single either, i forget where but somewhere on either the youtube or site, they introcued as the album opener, not the first single.

I bring the light, you get to see You bring the love, it's ecstasy I see no point, what you thinking? I'm goin' out, I'm taking you drinkin'. I get the call, you gettin' up I'm standin tall, we're fuckin' tough It's just your way, you hear me wrong I hear you say, you get enough get enough! Baby hold on Baby come on, baby come on You get enough, get enough! Baby hold on Baby come on, baby come on You get enough, get enough! (Guitar Solo) I bring the light, you get to see You bring the love, it's ecstasy I see no point, what you thinking? I'm goin' out, I'm taking you drinkin'. I'm coming in, you're coming out I'm coming up, you're coming down. It's just your way, you do me wrong I hear you say, you're getting up getting up! Baby hold on Baby come on, baby come on You're gettin' up, gettin' up! Baby hold on Baby come on, baby come on You're gettin' up, gettin' up! (Solo) Baby come on Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on The only part I'm not sure about is whether he says "you get enough" or "you're getting up," so I put both of them in there.

K+ for getting the lyrics out there mate! I'm loving this new sound of theirs to be honest! It's new and refreshing, and also really cool with the female baking singer(s). That's something we've never heard with Oasis (Only two times on Fade Away Warchild version, and Boy With The Blues). Just great! I'm very excited about hearing more from Beady Eye, and in twelve days time, we'll get to hear Sons Of The Stage, which I suspect is a cover. Anyways, it'll be cool to hear

I do think the refrain is addictive. It's a nice wee song. I was thinking yesterday we were going to get some god awful rocker but fair play to them, it isn't.

I love it. It's different and fast paced and definitley NOT Oasis which IMO is great, as we had Oasis, I loved them but I do not want Oasis mark 2.

I love the song, it is very high energy and very rocking. I love the piano heavy, 50s-60s Rock N' Roll/Rhythm & Blues influence the song has. Liam also sounds great. Its a very catchy, high energy, rocking song, thats different than anything Oasis has ever done, so for me, thats a winning combination.

I think it's a grower, I do admit for most Oasis It's probably a shock to the system, this is not oasis so we should judge it as it is. Just a song with a cool retro feel to it. Since we have nothing else to compare it, not Oasis. I think it's more in tune with Liam's songs with Oasis, the later ones mainly like I Believe in All and pass me down the wine. I don't even know if Liam wrote, it seems like that

I'm posting in here because I "like" the song as it says in the thread title. Not more than a simple "like".
Hopefully, it'll grow on me like Shock of the Lightning did.
Anyhow, I thing the chorus is spot on. It's simple and effective. The woman vocals and the fact that they lowered the piano key makes it pleasant for me.
Plus, I like Liam's voice. Possibly his strongest vocals of the last years

I am in love! lol at the risk of sounding like a fan girl (which I proudly am It reminds me nothing of recent Oasis, it rips right through you...something I had been wanting from Oasis for a long time...just rip roaring rock n roll, it makes you want to get up and dance... Liam's voice IMO reminds me (not SOUNDS LIKE) Lennon post beatles.. he seems freer and lighter...Idk if thats just me..anyways it will be pouring out my windows all day!!

I think this song will have a Lyla reaction ultimately. By that I mean, live it is going to be way more fun for fans to clap and jump and such.
I do like it overall.

I absolutely love it, so different to Oasis. Liam's vocals are fantastic, it makes me happy to listen to aswell, people who don't like it need to remember the whole album wont be like this, there will a whole variety of stuff on there from listening to this, few out and out rockers, few bluesy songs like this and a couple ballads.
Hell of a start!

I agree, it gave me the same vibe. It does remind me of that. And By the way, John Lennon loved this kind of rock n roll, these late 50ies rockers.... It's pure rock 'n' roll, to the bone. Oasis was 60ies rock 'n'roll and mod, Beady Eye refreshes with going 50ies with this song ... the time that rock 'n' roll was growing up ... Just as Beady Eye will ...

I like it only because its a new start... but i wouldnt mind if it just a stand alone single in fact it might be just one of the filler(s) of the album. They could have done something alike the white label demo of columbia.

best way to enjoy this song like any great rock and roll song is to turn it up LOUD!
