Ok so its causing a bit of a stir, but its just 1 song
If someone had played me Digsys Dinner as the first song i would of dismissed it but the rest of the album is great, so lets give them a chance!!!

Yeah but how do you know that Bring the light is the 'digsys dinner' song ? For all you know this could be the 'epic' Slide Away type track !
I hope this is just a filler song and once we hear the first single we'll be blown away. To get good media attention i would have released a better free song though. If this is a 'meaning of soul' type track i can live with that.

Too many on here are quick to dismiss anything that doesn't sound like Definitely Maybe.

There is no way that this is one of the worst songs on the album. For a start I think it's a very good song lyrics aside, but also the amount of production they've put in it, the fact they've released it as the first thing people are gonna hear from Beady Eye & also the fact that in the video we have Liam can be seen quite clearly mouthing 'baby come on'. If they've made a video for this song then it is most certainly not seen as filler
Sometimes words look the same when lip-read so there's a chance that the video recorded wasn't for this song but I'm pretty confident it was and if a lot of you hate this then I don't imagine you'll like the songs deemed not as good as this by the band members
Again, I personally love the song which is good for me - get it right up ye's
xx

What's wrong with saying you don't like something that you in fact - don't like?

What's wrong with saying you don't like something that you in fact - don't like? Nothing, assuming that you're judging the song with an open mind.

I agree with the OP.
I don't like this song. But give them a chance for sure. If this is just an album track then it's okay. If I log on here in two weeks and see that its the lead single... we can safely say Beady Eye is a disappointment.
I hope they aren't.

Why are people taking the possibly of this not being the lead single?

Too many on here are quick to dismiss anything that doesn't sound like Definitely Maybe. The best thing I've heard all day! (Apart from Bring The Light that is ;D) Oasis biggest Achilles heel was always that the fans and critics alike, always jugded their later music to Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory.

(Apart from Bring The Light that is ;D) Oasis biggest Achilles heel was always that the fans and critics alike, always jugded their later music to Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory. But Liam wasn't altogether modest about BDI, was he? "This is gonna be the best album you'll hear for the next 50 years." "BDI is gonna be bigger than Oasis." If they want to be bigger than Oasis, they better start trying. I do give them a chance, I liked some Liam-written oasis songs in the past and I think I'll like BTL after a while, too. But if the whole album is like BTL, I'll be disappointed. Let's keep hoping. The 22-second teaser doesn't sound too much like BTL, right? PS: What's wrong with Digsy's Dinner? Great song imo.

Why are people taking the possibly of this not being the lead single? couple of reasons. 1) we haven't seen the album tracklisting, it might not even be on the album! 2) it is common nowadays for labels to release free downloads or street singles that aren't chart eligible as just a taster of the album, with a properly release cd single with loads of promotion later

I know that I've been killing them on this song in the other thread, but as I have stated "this is only the first song, but you do have to be a bit worried."
I actually came into this song with really low expectations and did not think that there would be an Oasis like sound or the greatest thing I ever heard, but even with my low expectations I was still disappointed. I think that some people arent listening to this with an open mind, but its a two way street. Certain people have just chosen to believe that anything they release will be shit, while others will try to explain away every flaw.
I just tried to judge the song on the basis of "if I wasnt an Oasis fan" And I concluded that if this wasnt BDI, then I wouldnt even be giving this song the time of day. But like I said, its still the first song.

Too many on here are quick to dismiss anything that doesn't sound like Definitely Maybe. It looks like the curse that plagued Oasis from 1995 on will plague Beady Eye as well....

wow just heard the song and all i can is... i am unpleasantly surprised. I didn't think it'd be the second coming of Live Forever or anything like that but i was expecting the oasis sound to (somewhat) still be there and let's face it, that sound can't be found in "Bring the Light". I was really excited about BDI and BTL, now after the first listen, i don't know what to think really... for the first 5 seconds of the song i thought i was being "punk'd" or something =P

I think you should judge as a song that you just randomly heard from any group. I would try and find a better way of judging. to note: I personally gave the song a 6.5/10

If you guys have been around, you know i am not a Liam basher, in fact i have been accused of being "team Liam", whatever that nonsense means lol still, if(IF) the rest of the album sounds like BTL, i will not be buying it. I am an Oasis fan AND a fan of both brothers but i can not support something if i don't think it's good.

I've said this in other threads, but I'm certain that this song in no way will represent the rest of what is on the album. We know the kind of songs Liam, Gem, and Andy write, and this certainly isn't it. Always now in the other thread said it best: "I started to enjoy it when I realized it's a lighthearted happy album track, and not the be all and end all of music." It really sounds like the guys were having fun in the studio with this one, and I think once you get past the fact that it's not meant to be one of the greatest songs of all time you can really enjoy it.

Top post fella. If i knew for sure it was just a lighthearted happy album filler type track i'll be fine with it, deep down i hope thats the case. But again i wont dismiss BDI just because of this one song. Still cant wait to hear the album, just want it to happen soon !

Which is a pity as BDI are not Oasis and thank God it doesn't sound like an Oasis rip off. I really like it personally it is different, fast paced and I for one can't wait for this to be played live
