^^It depends on your approach. There's no right length of time for anything. There have been just as bad albums that took 5 years to make as there are that took 2 weeks to make, and vise versa. Time does not make greatness, nor does brevity. If something is great its great no matter how much time is spent on it, same goes if something is bad. Exactly. I don't mean to make a case that brevity=quality. My point is that they are unrelated. You could have that brilliant idea in the first 5 minutes or 5 years after you start. It comes when it comes. It's just that the idea that "Liam and co. work so hard so it must be brilliant stuff" does wash with me. They did what they could in the time they gave themselves...we can hope that brilliance struck and strick frequently...but that isn't a given. If hardwork produced brilliance then the music world would be a much different place.

I agree that spending large amounts of time on something will not guarantee brilliance but I think that they amount of time and effort they should have put in means that it at least should be decent and maybe really, really good if they magic was there instantly. I suppose time will tell on that factor.
I think that Noel had to work at those brilliant songs in the early days, I don't believe he could write a tune like Live Forever in 20 minutes. I think he spent a good 4 or 5 years before DM came out working on a lot of stuff and that is why I am quite confident in the Beady Eye material because that will have been constructed in a similar fashion.
The really good songs will have clicked instantly and be left as they are, the average ones will be worked on and worked on to try and get them up to scratch and the poor tunes will be scrapped. So the single should be the best of a good bunch, that was basically what I was trying to get at.

I believe him.

I'm seriously not joking. Who is Fred Perry? a tennis legend I played tennis once. Can't say I was a legend at it though.

WOW, that is tough, a lot of that shit music (well known mainstream artists), will be bought by brain washed/mindless souls who do not know what real music is. Real music? Are you 100% sure that Beady Eye is real music haha, I know I'll like it whatever it sounds like but that is a bit of an outlandish statement, to say what's music and what's not.
