"searching For The Young Soul Rebels" by dexy's midnight runners is one blistering hot album that any true music fan simply has to have in his/her collection. this band had the same rare commitment, passion and the tunnel vision strait down the line goal to create something pure and good with no concerns about how famous or rich they could become as their only rivals at the time were "the clash" who a few months earlier had released "london calling"
dexys live were just as uncompromising in their own way too.
"The Projected Passion Revue" is a live album that came from a session they did for radio 1 just before they changed their lineup and became the "come on ilene" dexys that most of the world is familar with now.
dexys were a soul band with a horn section that otis redding would have killed for without a doubt!
try downloading "The Projected Passion Revue" and then playing it at volume and if you love it, well then buy it.
me, i am really excited that "Searching For The Young Soul Rebels" is being re-released with an extra 21 tracks/bbc sessions for john peel and kid jensen plus demos.
it would be truly great if the original lineup would reform for the release of this classic album but as the clash never reformed and left us with their live legacy, well its probably best if dexy's do the same.
if however, they do reform i can guarantee i will be first in the queue!

Dexy's were a great band. I really would love to hear their Peel and Jensen session.
