"Three words: I'm Outta Time. It proves your point wrong"
Are you fucked in the head? How can you use a day in the life/jealous guy pastiche that took eight years to create and still came out missing a verse as your argument in this debate. Have you listened to George Harrison's solo stuff? Have you listened to the Beatles.
Some one above implied that George is better then Liam as of this moment (inferring of course that Liam still has tunes to give us) and that is a valid arguement...
Your 'grand conclusion' is daft and damn near irritating.
"Something. Here Comes the Sun. Crackerbox Palace. Taxman. My Sweet Lord. While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Isn't It a Pity. It proves your point wrong.

I took a walk towards the horizon And as I pondered your evidence I fell off the edge of the world. And as I hurled downward I screamed... "Damn they were wrong, the earth is flat and beadyeyeunofficial is right..."

Something is less than Pass me down the wine?
I love Pass me down the wine, but do you realize Something has been covered by some the most iconic singers of all time. Elvis, Fank Sinatra, Joe Cocker to name a few. Must be something to that huh? Yes I know, a different generation. I think the the whole poll is apples to oranges but I vote George.
Something is less than Pass me down the wine? Sorry not buying that.

Liam couldn't wipe Georges ass (let alone play golf off his head ) in songwriting. But Liam has a far better voice. If I was picking a band no offense to George but there are better songwriters out there so i would probably pick Liam because Liam's voice is my favorite of all time. But for those who are debating at whose the better songwriter. I don't see why you are debating its pretty clear that George is miles better. MILES.

My comment on Bob Dylan, I've never thought of him as 'cool' but he's one of my favourite songwriters - what I mean is he's not cool in the conventional sense.
But what the hell is beadyeyeunofficial on about? I'm having a right old chuckle to myself at the minute. Take off your Liam rose tinted spectacles for once please.

@nyr is... a NY Buff: The Jonas Brothers don't have swagger. They're just shit. I'm sure Liam's said this on many occasions - if you don't have swagger, you're not rock n roll. And this is what this thread is about. Christ, Liam can put it on too much but he has better musical ability than George. George isn't known for anything, but Liam is renowned worldwide for his distinctive singing voice. It may not be pitch perfect (he's not an opera singer...) but, at the end of the day, it makes Liam Liam. And George? He's nothing compared to RKid. firstly, about my first statement (re: jonas brothers).... they walk around like the arrogant little pricks they are, thinking they're the coolest thing on earth. but they suck. they are to music as what anne frank is to music. secondly... wow. i'm outta time was a decent song and all, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. i'll put it like this... it takes us a second to name liam's best song. meanwhile, you'll get a larger debate by asking to name george's best song. you're so blind as an oasis fanboy that you can't recognize it. is it hard to see up there, with your nose so far up liam's ass?

@nyr is... a NY Buff: I think you should wash your hands mate...having faeces on your fingers will give you bad health. You seem to have your fingers up Noel's arse all the time...or have you got your tongue up there?
One can debate about Liam's best song - "Born on a Different Cloud", "Ain't Got Nothin'", "Guess God Think's I'm Abel", "Boy with the Blues", "I Believe in All", "Pass Me Down the Wine", "I'm Outta Time", "Songbird", "The Meaning of Soul", "Won't Let You Down", and "Love Like a Bomb" all show Liam's fantastic ability as a songwriter.

You can always debate about Oasis and your musical taste on here, but insulting any members isn't needed.

Pass Me Down the Wine, from an album that is five years old. Give it a few years, and artists will be covering that song left, right and centre.

I think everyone should chill out. I understand how someone can be a super fan of a musician but some of the comments in this thread are hilariously ridiculous. anyone is entitled to their opinion but you don't need to insult to prove your point.
and this thread is not about "swagger". it's about "Who wrote the best songs" ffs there's so much more in an artist than only stage presence.
beadyeyeaydayada, you honestly think "Pass me down the Wine" will be a classic in a few years?

Hahaha, what is this all about? How can you compare Liam to George Harrison? Its like trying to compare chalk and cheese. I definitely think Harrison's songwriting towards the end of the Beatles and his early solo work (All Things Must Pass-era) was absolute genius. He wrote some really beautiful songs, i.e. Something, Beware of Darkness etc.
Liam really hasn't written anything anywhere near as good as Harrison did back then, but then saying that, Liam is still developing as a songwriter, and I really seriously think Liams best songs are yet to be written...
