I got it and it's truly terrible. Just awful stuff, folks.
If my karma reaches positive territory, I may hand out gifts to those who've contributed.

What's the point to have a leaked one when the official one is out on Monday? It's out in my local record shop today, so I'm going to buy it after work later today and go to listen to it in my house.

Another Average Ashcroft Album. Typical Ashcroft solo album but its a very optimistic which is great is hear. This Thing Called Life, Good Loving, and especially She Brings The Music are great tracks (not even in the same league as great verve songs though). His voice is still one of the best out there. But I'm glad he finally seems content and at peace. Richard can write some of the best depressing and heartbreaking songs (On Your Own, History, the Drugs Don't Work) but as i said before its great to hear him sound happy. Its not a return to form musically but as a person I think he has found a niche (even though this record is still a typical solo album musically) lets hope him discovering niche will maybe give us a great solo album next time but in the meantime this album is nice to listen to especially maybe with some one special

if we can expect anything from a richard ashcroft release, it's that it'll be average. not bad, but not good. one or two standout tracks but filler for the rest of the record.
and god, i wish it wasn't like that... the man's written some of my favorite songs.

I do like the optimistic view that permeates the whole album, a lot of the reason I like the album is cos it sounds like Ashcroft is really enjoying himself. It's not groundbreaking, it's not amazing. It's just, you know, good.

i was gonna buy this, then I saw The Guardian gave it 1/5. Not that The Guardian is the gospel, but if they gave it that lower rating it can't be great.
I'll download out of curiousity.

I never read the review before buying an album. I don't like to judge my expectations by reading a review cos the review only gives you an idea, but that idea can be totally different than mine or yours. Maybe it was good that I saw him live before the album has released cos I quite liked his new songs. Once again, Ashcroft seems very enjoying his new band when I saw him. So forget keep searching the shadow of The Verve in him, but accept and enjoy what he is now.
