Just got this long waited new album by Ed Harcourt last week.
I'm loving it, especially the title track although it's nothing new actually. The whole album is typical "Harcourt in a fine form", but brilliant as always.
Any other Harcourt lovers on this forum got it?

Got it, but haven't listened to it properly yet, just 2 or so times while doing something else. Generally, so far, really happy with it. I've really liked Ed for many many years and seen him live couple of times aswell:)

I really love Harcourt. He's brilliant, too shame to be underrated. I haven't seen him live yet. I couldn't make it when he played in Paradiso a couple of years ago due to a heavy snow storm. I had my ticket, but there was no train to take me to Amsterdam. I really hope he'll come to play in Holland very soon.

You're right about underrated thing, I'm still really surprised every time I meet someone who actually knows him. I quite rarely really like soloartists somewhat like him, female singers almost never, but I really rarely get excited about man+piano sort of things, but he is an exception there:)
Too bad about the missed gig:( He's actually one of those artists who has performed in Finland several times, there's many more wellknown bands and artists who have never played here.

I only know a few people who likes him. He's really brilliant. I got into him when I heard "This One's For You" back in 2004. Actuatlly it was Noel Gallgher who brought him to me. I was listening to Steve Lamacq show on Radio 1 and Noel was a guest. and this song has been played as one of Noel's favourite song (if I remember correct) I really liked the song and bought "Strangers" a couple of weeks later. He's not just a singer and songwriter, but a multi composer. I'm glad to know there's more people who likes him on this forum.

Wish I could remember where I heard him first or how I ended up with couple of his songs as mp3s... but I've had them for ages, I think since 2001 or so. Apple Of My Eye, May God Protect Your Soul, Those Crimson Tears, Birds Fly Backwards, I've Become Misguided... some of those are tagged as Maplewood, which is the 2000 ep so might be it was before the album even. But no memory whatsoever if someone recommended him, or sent the mp3s or if I just came across him somewhere. I learned about Noel liking him only like a year ago, when friend said "Ed Harcourt? Noel likes him." I was pleasantly surprised

Sometimes you just find something wonderful by an accident.
I really love "All Of Your Days Will Be Blessed", "Apple Of My Eye", "Those Crimson Tears", "Fireflies Takes Flight" and "Sister Renee".
