only listened to it twice so far so my opinion will change a bit but two things are obvious:
it's not as good as Funeral and it's definitely not in the same league as OK Computer... don't know how in the world the guy reviewing it for BBC said such thing

They only have 3 albums,I'd suggest you to listen all of them, but if you have to choose only one, I'd say Funeral, their debut.

i have to say, i've listened to the album 2 times now, and it's amazing. THAT'S A FACT. i can't rate it at the moment, but it's very obvious that i have to give very high ratings for the songs, again. i recently fall in love with this band, and its freaks me out how good they're and how good this album is !
it's hard to say if it's better than ok computer or not, but it doesn't matter anyway, because there aren't much bands in the world which brought out so many great albums in a row, and you have to appreciate that in the first place before you compare this unbelievable music to other bands.

Got through it once so far.
The Suburbs, Ready to Start, Modern Man, Subruban War, We Used to Wait, and Sprawl II are all very very good.
Very good record.

As good as The Suburbs is, for me it falls just short of Butterfly House.
Sprawl II is fucking fantastic though.

Well this is...weird. Seems kinda cheesy and synth poppy. Not like their first two albums at all.
On first listen it doesn't seem to have the impeccable consistency of Funeral nor the Ocean of Noise-esque obvious stand out Neon Bible had (I'm not counting No Cars Go as it dates back to before Funeral.) This record will take some getting used to.
ETA further thoughts: The Régine songs strike me as highlights, Ready To Start is good but reminds me a lot of The Cure, Modern Man has an annoying time signature.

The Suburbs is so much better than Neon Bible, it's not even funny. Neon Bible was the cheesiest one of the 3. And how is The Suburbs not noise-esque (what does that even mean, anyway?), the album is so full of sound.....

Suburbs blows Neon Bible out of the water. I'm not to big on NB.

This album is so good, it defies logic.
We Used to Wait is my favorite song. Every time I listen to it, I wish it didn't end.
Suburban War is a lyrical masterpiece, and it sounds awesome too.
Ready to Start is awesome, too.
Really really good album.

After a few more listens, I'd argue that Sprawl II, Half-Light I, and Suburban War could take their place as the obvious stand out tracks, especially Sprawl II. Seems like everyone I've talked to about the album really loves it (It's like a modern day Heart of Glass, fucking brilliant). However, I think it's a testament to the album that even the weakest track (Month of May) is pretty exciting.

Half Life II also needs a mention. This album is too good. For once, I totally agree with you. That tune reminds me of Joshua Tree by U2, it's great! Like staring out at an open desert and just admiring the immense scope. This is the tune The Killers wanted to write on Sam's Town!

I love Arcade Fire... but not sure I'm feeling this album yet.
A couple of tunes have stood out, maybe I need to live with it a bit longer.

I prefer this album to Funeral. And it's well above Neon Bible.
Currently, this deserves album of the year. We'll see what the remaining 5 months or so has to offer us, but this is an incredible record.
Suburban War is now by far my favorite. That song is a master piece in every sense.

Is it a well crafted album? yes. is it a good album? yes. Is it a great album? no. Will I be listening to this in a year's time? no. 7/10
