Anyway, the media coverage today was silly. CNN showed a Jackson Special during prime time. No wonder why their ratings continue to plummet.

No wonder why their ratings continue to plummet. while michael jackson may not have abused children, he, a grown adult, knowingly and willingly slept in bed with children who were not his own. not only was that inexcusable, it was incredibly misguided and irresponsible, especially for a man in his position. he deserved every bit of criticism for that, and i feel anyone who feels differently is blindly whitewashing. |

Yes, he's was odd, but that's not a crime. Furthermore, shouldn't every parent who let their child 'sleep with' Jackson post 1993 be charged with parental neglect? Seriously. The man had some serious psychological problems, most of which seem to stem from his abusive childhood. I don't think it's right to criticize the mentally ill, and I still believe the media made Jackson even worse. Jackson is a victim of society, and that's a real shame. |

If the 40 year old guy down the street was sleeping with people's kids he'd get arrested and he'd have the shit kicked out of him.

Oh, one year without Michael... I'm not big fan of him, but I'm really sad. He was a real artist.
Really bad times! I'm afraid of what there will be in music.
About Michael's "pedofility": when he was alive, I didn't pay attention to the news of it. Now, after I watched a concert in Munich in 1997 year - there was one performance of "Heal the world" with the children -, I just can't and won't believe that MJ was a criminal in this.
By the way, did you see "This is it"? Do you like it? As for me, good documentary. MJ seems to me great person, though he had some hang-ups (I think it's because of his father's methods of "upbringing" and having become a star too early when the real childhood didn't come to end).

"Sleeping with" in the conventional, sexual meaning, then yes of course. Having kids spend the night without it being sexual? Weird, I surely wouldn't let my children do that, but not a crime. Also, look no further then the parent's history who charged Jackson. Not exactly upstanding citizens - the mom in 2003 was a proven liar! Let's put two and two together. He acted like a child, he had an amusement park at his house, which he called Neverland. Why would having a childlike sleep over be any different? Again, I'm not saying it's normal, but he clearly had some mental issues due to his childhood, all of which suggests he's trying to create a childhood he apparently never had. He was most certaintly not a pedophile. |
