It's probably the worst era for Oasis along with DOYS. The singles (except Songbird) are a parody of what the band did in the 90's and the rest is mediocre to say the least (I don't hate "Born on A Different Cloud" though, but I almost never listen to it).

Next to Noel's cosmic pop and some of Beady Eye the worst Oasis related release.

I think it was the high point of Liam's songwriting. Probably just enough material around that time to make a good album if a decent producer got their hands on it. I liked the work Spike Stent did on SOTSOG and would like them to have worked with him more.

There is an evident lack of energy on HC, they sound really tired on that album, no wonder the ballads stands out cos they are slower, on the other hand on the rocks they sounded really flat and lazy.
Liam sounded bored and Noel songs sounded lazy, just compare either Hung In a Bad Place or Better Man to something like IHITIK or TSOTL, The Hindu TimeZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ, FON is Noel stuck in second gear.
Also I think they hurried the album too, there is a lack of energy and proper production, no wonder all sounded like demos, they should have take some more time to rest and release it in 2003.
