Wow. These guys are good. Just youtubed a few songs, listening to Stereo now. Going to download all their albums.
Anyone else like them? I've played the song below about 5 times in a row now. So good.

I like some of their songs. The one on a free CD from Mojo earlier this year was good.

One of the best indie rock bands ever ( this is indie rock, not The Killers or The Kooks ), their first album is great. NL4E, listen to their debut and their second album, I'm sure you'll enjoy songs like Cut Your Hair and Conduit for Sale at first, and then you'll dig more the whole albums

"Here" is amazing. But then there's shit like Conduit For Sale -- how do you like that? It's so sloppy. "I'm tying I'm tying I'm trying". We got it, you're trying. Ugh. No melody at all. I haven't listened to every song of theirs yet, but again the ones that I like are really good.

I'd say give up now.

One of the best bands of the 90s. I love them... I have all their albums and a couple of EPs. I never gave Terror Twilight a proper listen, but all the other albums are as good as it gets

Major Leagues is a gorgeous song. I'm a new fan they've been a band that I've been meaning to check out for years now.

Pavement will be performing at the Pitchfork Festival this sunday at 8:30 pm ET. There's a live webcast, you can check it out at the pitchfork's site. This is a great opportunity for anyone that likes them. I don't think they'll be touring anywhere near me so I'll be watching this.
Last night Modest Mouse was on and they were amazing.

I don't hate Pavement. I haven't given much time for formulate a proper opinion. I'm going to start listening to them more now.
The songs I like are really good. So fare Summer Babe is one of my favorites, amazing tune.
But, the songs I hate I find so bad. Maybe the likes of Conduit for Sale will grow on me, but at the moment I find that song, and a few others off that album to be shit.
I'm going to give Crooked Rain.....a listen now, as that got good reviews too......

I see it's been hinted at above but listen to Conduit For Sale! and compare and contrast with this:
And people say Noel Gallagher is shameless... ;-)

If I had to choose only one Pavement song, it would be "Here". Not only the melody is wonderful (so Velvet) but it also perfectly describes the band's career.
"I was dressed for success but success it never comes"
