Manic Street Preachers have announced details of a new UK tour to coincide with the release of their forthcoming new album.
The group's 10th studio album, 'Postcards From A Young Man', is out in September. A UK tour starts in Glasgow on September 29.
Frontman James Dean Bradfield said that the album would be an unashamedly pop-orientated affair following 2009's bleak 'Journal For Plague Lovers'.
"We're going for big radio hits on this one," he told NME. "It isn't a follow-up to 'Journal For Plague Lovers'. It's one last shot at mass communication."
Your thoughts? I loved Journal For Plague Lovers but I kind of like the sound of an unashamedly pop-oriented album, maybe something along the lines of Everything Must Go.

Wow, it's so soon! Not complaining, here's hoping they hit America again after the very eye-opening tour they had here.

Never seen these chaps live yet have all their albums. Might have to dust of the ol wallet and shell out on a ticket for this tour.

such an under rated band. Everything Must Go and Journal For Plague Lovers are amazing. And the pure rawness of Holy Bible is brilliant.

"Journal For Plague Lovers" was a brilliant album. I've only seen them once. Hope they'll tour in Europe once the new album is out.

The best thing about this is British Sea Power are supporting them. Probably playing material from LP4 too.
Journal was decent. Everything they've done is a bit shit compared to The Holy Bible though innit (which isn't really a criticism because that record's a fucking ten)

such an under rated band. Everything Must Go and Journal For Plague Lovers are amazing. And the pure rawness of Holy Bible is brilliant. Agreed! A friend of mine gave me the Forever Dalayed compilation as a christmas gift in 2008 but I never gave it much attention until recently. After listening it properly I became a fan instantly! They're brilliant. Wish I could go to one of their concerts.

You've been listening to the Manics a lot recently Marcos according to the "What song are you listening to now" thread. Not that that's a bad thing, I think they might be my favorite current band. ;D

Yeah Joey, that's right ;D
Do you know that period when you're discovering the band, searching about them, watching videos, etc, etc.. That's what have been happening to me haha. Brilliant band and definitely my current favorite band (Oasis being on another level of course).

Everything Must Go is brilliant. I mean considering the just lost Richie and everything for a band to go through that struggle and rise up and make such a great record is awesome to see.
