Bristol Pub Shortlisted For Top Music Venue Award

Clifton cider house The Coronation Tap has made it down to the last six of The Publican UK Music Pub of the Year.

The famous Bristol pub could walk away with the top award tonight(Wednesday 21st April) after making it to the final of the competition.

The pub, which is well known as a music venue in the city, has been shortlisted for the second time because of the variety of live music they provide. It is a regular venue for well known artists like Beth Rowley, James Morton and Andy Sheppard.

Gary Alesbrook, who tours with Kasabian and is currently recording with Noel Gallagher, said: "I can honestly say that The Coronation Tap is the best venue in its genre to play in Bristol."

The annual competition is organised by industry magazine The Publican, and the winners will be announced on Wednesday night at a special ceremony in London.

Landlords Mick and Jan Gale have been running the pub for 13 years.

Jan said: "We would love to bring this award back to Bristol as a sincere 'thank you' to the musicians and everyone who has supported us.

"Bristol was voted the most musical city in the country by the Performing Rights Society in March and we feel very much a part of it.

"It would be fantastic to top that off with this award, but we're the smallest venue in the final and up against some very tough competition.

"Whether we win or not, just to make the final of this prestigious award two years in a row is a great achievement in itself."

The point is though that Noel could be in the studio at the moment

Trumpet guy of Kasabian... he's okay when touring with Meighan and Pizzorno. I know that Tom was guest appearance on his solo album, there was a song somewhere released in 2018. This collaboration with Noel can be very suprising tbf
