Playing at the 930 Club, Anyone going?
I'm trying to get some friends to go with me, but this band is practically unheard of here, which makes it difficult.
Incredible band, though.

Do you ever feel like you're pissing into the wind?

When they came to Bogota I went alone and had a great time. They're absolutely sick live. Aleks was amazing, too bad she left. Gareth is a great frontman too.

Yeah, worst comes to worst I'm going alone.
Why this forum continues to ignore this band is beyond me, though.

they're too indie, maybe?
this forum's average member only cares for bands with classic rock influences. Pavement, Xiu Xiu, Deerhoof are bands that influence heavily this bands sound and its just not something you should expect an Oasis fan to like.
Long live Los Campesinos!

I've tried listening to them and I don't dig it, sorry man. I do like Pavement though.

It's very good and it's great they're changing their sound. Lyrics are great, as usual, too. But I don't know, it lacks something. Still like it a lot. Certainly not album of the year for me, though.

I still think it's their best album to date. Each album has gotten better, too. They've really matured since their debut.

listening to the album again. and it's fantastic. their best. there's not a song as utterly great as Death to los campesinos, or You!Me!Dancing, but this thing works as a real album. And there are some outstanding tracks too. This album shows that they can do some weird and very challenging stuff without losing any of their wicked charm.
The new songs should be great live

What. A. Band.
Simply stunning live. The singer and guitarist even jumped off the stage and played 2 songs from the center of the crowd, finally a gig in the US with actual atmosphere.
Lost part of my voice right now, and a bit of a sore throat. Signs of a good night, eh?
This band is truly special, and I'm shocked how over looked they are on here. I will def. see them again when I next have the chance

Really sick live... but I have to tell you that Aleks Campesinos was the cutest thing ever when I got to see them a year ago!

Might want to check out a band like Arcade Fire (also did the play ion the crowd thing, even march sometimes) or Gogol Bordello (shit music them, but great live). But good to hear you had a good time and glad they could make it. I know they had to cancel their Coachella appearance cos the volcano.

Just because they arent the only band to do that doesn't make it less cool.
I really enjoyed that gig. Probably my second favorite concert after Oasis, although the Arctic Monkeys one is up there, too, as that night out was just epic.

But they certainly aren't the only band to do so, nor are they the first or last. So yeah, there are gigs in the US that have "actual atmosphere" other then the one you just went to.

I've been listening to Hold On Now Youngsters a lot more recently, and am finding it even more enjoyable. Top band.
