Replace Kasabian with The Verve, and it's the same line up as 2008. I've been five times to the V Festival. Always a good weekend. Shame i can't make it this year.

Great line up for the main stage but David Guetta headlining Channel 4 stage?? lol Diana vickers???, i'll be there as always but it is becoming increasingly a bit too much T4 on the beach as the years go by....!

It's probably the worst line-up out of all of the major British festivals. Glasto is, as always, the best. Reading and Leeds have Arcade Fire, Queens of the Stone Age, and The Libertines. Isle of Wight has The Strokes and Paul McCartney. Latitude has Belle and Sebastian and an incredibly strong mid-tier.
V-Festival has the repeat and festival staples since 2007. Boooring.

It'll prob be my last V fest this year but come on, Reading fest?? its an appalling line up imo. Glasto is good but they need to keep it real and knock these hip hop and rnb acts on the head. Save it for the MOBOS. Isle of wight is all good bar Jay Z. Oxygen and T in the park are pretty solid too.
All in all though despite V's commercial acts i'd say reading is the most dire line up this year and prob their worst for a number of years.
Next year ill prob do Benicassim, reading and Glasto for a change.
Of course the quality of a line up all boils down to personal opinion....

Reading got LCD Soundsystem, Phoenix, Klaxons, Foals, Band of Horses, Modest Mouse, Mystery Jets, and fucking Arcade Fire and fucking The Libertines! The other two main stage days are shit(but the side stages easily make up for that) , but come on. You cant beat one of the most wanted and anticipated reunions of all time leading into one of the best live bands out there.
And Glasto and Isle of Wight are fantastic because of the hip-hop acts! Isle of Wight has two of New York's finest, while Glasto=diversity. Considering Jay-Z is now headlining or sub-headlining numerous British festivals I think Noel has been proven wrong. There is a place for hip-hop at any festival, especially Glastonbury. The fact that they got Mos Def going on the same time as Gorrilaz and The Flaming Lips shows how many light years ahead Glastonbury is compared to any other British festival.

Lol y'see out of that lot i only like Klaxons and Foals so for me i was disappointed with the line up. I disagree with hip hop/RnB creeping into these festivals (although i'm a hypocrite cos i was over the moon when the Gorillaz replaced U2 ) but yes it obviously works so it will carry on but i'm just dreading the day some cardboard cutout c*nt like Usher or Neyo headlines Glasto.

Fair enough, but Reads and Leading the fix for people who like American indie, not a lot of other British festivals do. I don't think that will happen. Jay-Z maybe be the definition of mainstream, but he is an incredible performer and has a bunch of great tunes. People like him, Mos Def, etc have the power for cross-over success with the more "rock" crowd that those festivals cater to.
