Here's some of his most melancholy and sprawling songs if you're interested in checking him out further. The first in particular is in a similar vein to I Know It's Over by The Smiths.
Tonight The Sky, Duk Koo Kim (both Sun Kil Moon) and Make Like Paper (Red House Painters) are other essential Koz songs but unfortunately overrun the maximum length of a YouTube video.
His covers aren't half bad either

His 2008 album, April, is brilliant Absolutely. It actually took longer to grow on me than any of his previous albums but now it's right up there. I'm pretty sure the man is incapable of making a bad record.
