Another reggae fan on the forum! What other artists and albums do you like? I need to check out Rhoda’s new album. I like the Pete McKee art. 🇯🇲 I've got pretty classic tastes: Toots and the Maytals (pass the pipe or in the dark), upsetters (dub blackboard jungle), the heptones, Alton Ellis, Desmond Dekker... The Specials are among my favourite bands ever and I like the rest of two tone except Bad Manners which I never got. Discovered Steel Pulse recently as well and there's everything I love about reggae in their music (late to the party I know)
Yes boss. I was lucky enough to see Toots and I’ve seen The Specials three times, I’m a big fan🕴️

Stupid me thought "he had time to go see Terry Hall later". Stupid, stupid decision

I tried the new Foo Fighters, but like the 5 last ones, its the same record all over again. Stopped after 4 tracks.
Early FF were pretty good though.

After all the talk of Foo Fighters in the chart battle on Noel's sub-forum today I listened to their first album which is all Dave Grohl. I remembered liking it a lot when I was younger but I haven't listened to it in years, I listened to it all the way through again tonight, it's great and really different to all the other Foo Fighters albums, it's so 90's and of it's time but the songs are all really melodically strong.
I don't like Foo Fighters in general, I've said that on other threads, they're a bit too generic for me but that first album is great but I never hear it talked about on here or by anyone else. I don't go on Foo Fighters forums or anything, I'm guessing it's considered like their own version of Pablo Honey because it's so different to what they're known for but I really like it. Am I the only one or does anyone else love that first album?

It's the only Foo Fighters album I've listened to completely as well.

It was a lot more when I was a teenager. I'm just not into that kind of music anymore and haven't been for years. I did see them live about 8 years ago (I think) and that was great. And of course Dave is such a cool guy.

Still on my ‘93 binge. I know that when the Definitely Maybe reissue comes out next year I’m going to go on a massive Oasis binge, so it’s interesting remembering that time before the big O landed. A simpler and carefree time. Paul Weller - Wild Wood 808 State - Gorgeous Jamiroquai - Emergency On Planet Earth James - Laid Speedy J - Ginger Coverdale / Page - Coverdale / Page Transglobal Underground - Dream of a 100 Nations The Breeders - Last Splash Ozric Tentacles - Jurassic Shift The Cranberries - Everyone Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We? Del The Funky Homosapien - No Need For Alarm Monster Magnet - Superjudge Also, so many of my favourite 90s / early 00s artists are releasing music this year, it’s great. Aphex Twin (!!), The Chemical Brothers, Orbital, The Orb, Leftfield, Noel & Liam, The Coral, QOTSA… just need Liam Howlett to get that next album finished off now. 💿
