Ah yes i will try Venus and Mars, seems appropriate. Do you have one too ? This one is NON STOP from 5 am to 9 pm. Wild. 5 hours walking in the park yesterday, no pause. But he's fun and he's gonna be a very nice adult i think, or at least i hope so.

Funnily enough, I grew up on Wings. My Dad loved them. Must have heard the entirety of Band on The Run at least one million times before I was 10. (To this day, I can't help but sing Mamunia every time it rains). Don’t have one of my own, but was around a lot with my nieces, and I’ve seen how fast it goes from 4 hours of giggle fits at 2 to them giving you unsolicited life advice . It’s all good, but the pure joy of those early years is something. Definitely rooting for a nice adult, though … the world can use a lot more of those.

What a nice childhood to grow up on Beatles / Wings To honor your dad, i played Band On the Run first this morning, it's a such a feel good record, that warm sound is one of a kind. Cheers to daddy ! I hope he played Country Dreamer and Helen Wheels with it too, two amazing songs from that era. Yeah kids seem to be growing fast, didn't know much about them before, but yeah they go from that thing in the corner to speaking people (although this one talked very early ). We don't treat him as a baby but like an equal member of the family and try our best to teach him respect and kindness, finger crossed this will work. Sadly, there's still the other kids who can have a bad influence during day care. This is the hardest part. to try and teach him not to copy bad habits from other kids. We had him at home all day for 1,5 year before day care, and there's clearly a difference.

It wasn’t all magic, my childhood, but the Beatles/Wings part was.(My Dad was a Macca man, but I soon went off on the darker path of Lennon on my own )There was a lot of music in our house and I’m eternally grateful for that. Your son will be, too. Anyway, I’m honored if you were inspired to start your Wings month with Band on The Run, forever and ever my fave Macca. I do sometimes wonder what day care is doing to human society but I wouldn't worry too much. From what i've seen, good parenting can pretty much overcome most of the horrors of daycare and even worse, egads, schools ...

I knew something wasn't right with you, a Lennon fan betraying Macca I love both solo and in the Beatles really. Their differences clearly shows in their solo records, Macca ones are really peaceful (apart from a few tracks on RAM), while Lennon's are pretty angry and start to calme down, until the last one, which is very mellow and calm... a bit like Macca. Yeah day car is WAR. Bitting, screaming, those kids are wild animals. trying to teach him to defend himself but not to hurt anyone, it's fucking hard. Hardest job ever really. Good luck to all parents.

I just listened to Stereophonics - Performance and Cocktails from start to finish for the first time in years. What an album. It was the first non-Oasis album I really got into as a teenager and set me on a course to getting into music more broadly.
Haven't logged in here for a long time. Fuckin live this site x

Fuckin live this site x I just listened to it this week as well and it stands up very nicely. Every song is great and the record packs a heck of a punch. “Half of the lies you tell ain’t true” is my current favourite but every song on there could be as well.

I listened to Winning Days by The Vines.
I lost track a bit but I used to be a huge Vines fan more than 10 years ago, sadly they never recovered from their great debut, but most of their albums are still very good (WD, Vision Valley, Melodia...) I didn't really enjoy the last two because after Future Primitive they tried to replicate the sound of Highly Evolved (even the cover artwork looks the same), but it didn't work.
I wonder what they'll do next, it's hard to keep track on the band because after so many different lineups the only consistent member is Craig and he's not on social media at all, no public apperances, no interviews. The new albums just seem to pop up and then they vanish again.

Unbelievable album. agreed, it's phneomenal. Pure rock n roll. Didn't age at all and the b-sides are strong as well. This one and Jeep are the highlights of their career. Can't say i've listened to any of their new record for the past 15 years though.

Wings - Venus and Mars. Funny how ALF's tv show stole some saxophone parts. I always picture that furry alien when i listen to "Listen to what the Man said".
