I thought KoL was total shite when I first heard them. Still don't think they're a very good band (lead singer is just brutal on some songs) and they seem crazy overrated but I figured they'd be a worthwhile opponent. The Strokes I'm higher on even if their last album wasn't all that amazing.
Anyways, vote your heart out.

The Strokes easy. Less albums, though I have a hard time finding a Strokes song I don't like. I can make a whole album of KoL songs I dont like.

Strokes. KOL hasn't come close to making an album as good as Is This It. Both have unique singers at least in terms of todays rock n roll bands although i think i would give the edge to KOL singing wise. Strokes have better and more melodic guitar riffs. Both band have solid bass players and in the beats department KOL wins. But the strokes have something about them that just makes them better and its probably the most important department: the songwriting and the actual tunes.

I'd say that the "beats" would go to The Strokes, especially taking Room On Fire's funky stuff and the kraut-rock inspired Hard to Explain.

I love Fab's style. He is kinda like ringo in a sense he isn't the best drummer in the world but he gives the songs exactly what they need. Nathan from KOL is so creative. I mean you got the jazzish/waltzish beat on The Runner, the frantic drumming on McFearless, King Of The Rodeo off beat high hat, and the groovin Manhattan. If you're looking to dance I would say the strokes win but in terms of the drummers showcasing their abilities KOL wins. Edit: And tell me a KOL song that comes close to Under Control. What a great song.

Both overrated but i'm gonna go with the strokes because they didn't release anything as bad as Only By The Shite

I like the Strokes more than Kings of Leon, but I think that Kings of Leon are more talented musicians and are more popular

THE STROKES!! i loved KOL's early stuff but they have well and truly hopped on board the commercial bandwagon now and i'll scream if i have to hear Sex on FIre AGAIN.
Is this it? is in my top ten albums of all time.

The Strokes. Kings of Leon have some good stuff, but never really knocked me off my feet. The Strokes have loads of great stuff, and I can listen to any of their albums all the way through
