What was up with the hate for Weezer here? Sure Weezer and Oasis had great similarities but Oasis were a bigger band at one point in the mid '90s. Weezer is another one of my favorite bands!

Some of their later stuff always turned me off a bit. But their early work is apparently quite exceptional. And they're last record is a class-A masterpiece of an album, for sure!

Oasis never collaborated withvlil wayne or did an ad for a snuggie. They were supposed to do a co-headlibe tour but it didnt happened in the end.

Sorry guys I didn't realize that I needed you so much. I thought I'd get a new audience, I forgot that disco sucks.

Oasis never sunk as far as Weezer did. And Weezer never soared as high as Oasis did. End of.

Both are good bands and favorites of mine who both had success with great albums in the 90s, and fell from grace a bit in the 2000s. However, while Weezer had an awful drop in quality with later albums (except EWBAITE, great album), Oasis still made good/nearly great albums, up until the very end.
I love them both, but you can't deny that Oasis had more consistency, and despite the two being good in their own rights, Oasis was better imo.

I like Weezer, but Everything Will Be Alright in the End isn't a masterpiece album. There's maybe 3 or 4 songs that stands out. The rest reminded me of Weezer's previous record.

I like Weezer quite a lot and even though their latest releases have been a little underwhelming I think EWBAITE was great! I don’t know if I see that much resemblance between Oasis and Weezer though, other than that both are melodic rock bands who released their debut albums in 1994.

Rivers once wrote an Oasis song.
Weezer doesnt get the respect they deserve. Not a popular opinion on this forum but as a 1-2 punch I prefer The Blue Album and Pinkerton to DM and WTSMG. After Noel and Cobain, Rivers is probably the best song writer to come out of the nineties. Just like Noel nothing will compare to his first two albums but they both now how to write a hook.

Rivers once wrote an Oasis song. I think the most Oasis sounding Rivers song though probably is Crazy One.

It's cool that we're on the subject of comparing Weezer and Oasis since Rivers is a huge Oasis fan, and have included a cover of Morning Glory in many of their setlists.

Is it true they played the whole definitely maybe album at a secret gig? I only hear rumour. Is there any recording? I've heard that too, but I don't think there's any recordings of it out there. It'd be awesome if there was, though.

I don't know how to insert the post, but I follow Rivers Cuomo on Facebook and even if he posts a lot of bullshit most of the time, I just saw that he asked what everybody's favourite Oasis b-side was. His is either the Masterplan or acquiesce. I like Weezer and I thought it was nice to see that he apparently (still) is a big Oasis fan
