When I was younger, I wasn't into them at all, you know? Like, Backstreet Boys, 98 Degrees, 'N Sync, and all them were just bands to me. I liked their music, and that was it. But no, they're not bad at all, I like a bit of them sometimes, LFO, and some of the one-hit-wonders. It's amazing how Justin Timberlake is like the only person to really get out of it all, he's doing really good for himself, and is a funny guy. Not all of it is amazing, but he didn't get glued to it like the others did.
I think the Jonas Brothers will end up doing the same, at least maybe Nick and Joe. I think it'll be surprising to see what happens. The thing about the Disney brand... I don't think anyone likes it, but they get into it because it's there and they can take it. And it might spit you out and make you redundant, but people like Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff aren't that bad. At least they have their say in what they can do, unlike some of the current line-up. The newer girls seem too wannabe edgy and like to throw crap out there, think it got the best of Miley Cyrus though, seeing as she's getting less writing credits on her songs now because of it. Basically them saying, "you screwed it up, we have to make the decisions for you now."

Incredibly cheesy and naff, but don't do any great harm. Easy to avoid in my case.
Saying that, no I don't listen to boy bands.

was into East 17 in my teens, Take That can write good songs but as a general rule i hate boy bands.

Like someone else said how are we defining a "boy band"?? for example Take That, at what age do they no longer constitute being considered "boys"?
JLS are quite good considering how they were manufactured.
