Sorry if anyone's read this, but i didn't see it on here...
from the NME:
Kasabian's Tom Meighan has said he would "love" the band to record a track with their friend Noel Gallagher.
Speaking about the possibilities of hooking up with Gallagher, who quit Oasis in August, Meighan said he hoped the two parties would be able to head into the studio together once their schedules are both free.
"We'd love to do a track with him. Never say never. But at the moment he's concentrating on his solo stuff and we're busy as ever," Meighan told the News Of The World.
The frontman also revealed that he expects Gallagher to join Kasabian on their UK arena tour, which kicks off in Newcastle on November 10.
"We've got our arena tour in November. Noel will be calling us up nearer the time for sure saying 'Lads, I'm going to come perform with you on tour'. He's a performing machine, and loves playing live so he jumps at the opportunity whenever he can join us."

I hope that's true, but it's kind of hard to believe Noel is already working on solo material. For the past 4 months he's been talking about taking a break. Hopefully this is true . . .

In 3 years he'll release it, and in 5 years he'll rejoin Oasis.

In 3 years he'll release it, and in 5 years he'll rejoin Oasis. This sounds about right. I think he left Oasis cause he didn't want to tour for a while. Liam and co. probably wanted to head right back to the studio and get back on the road. If he releases a solo album he won't have to do a massive world tour and he'll have more time to spend with his family.

But I'd be surprised if he is already demoing stuff in any type of a studio. Liam was the one who wanted to take a short break and get back to recording. Noel wanted to take a hiatus from it all for a little bit.

i agree that noel wanted a break... but i think the break had more to do with him wanting some distance from liam instead of breaking from the recording/touring end...
he may just surprise us all and get the solo record off the ground within the next 12-18 months.
if for no other reason than to piss off liam.
like someone else said earlier, noel could record this solo album at his own pace and he wouldn't have to embark on a 20 country world tour to promote it.
i'm keeping positive.

I wonder what kind of tour he'd do in North America to support a solo album. For some reason, I have the feeling he'd hit small to medium sized theatres in New York and LA and that would be the extent of the U.S. dates. I can't see him playing smaller cities without the Oasis name behind him...and even then, they had trouble filling arenas during their last tour in the smaller cities as opposed to NYC and LA.

I think if he does any tour to promote his solo it will be like the acoustic tour him and Gem did. Some medium siez gigs. Nothin' extremely big; like stadiums.
