hey guys. I just start college and now i'm living in the dorms. During orientation they gave us a spiel about not downloading illegal stuff and that if we were caught doing it we'd get fined and punished. So I have a few questions:
1. How do they monitor us, and "catch" us downloading stuff? 2. Am I safe if i used sites like rapidshare/megaupload/mediafire/ect instead of limewire or torrents? 3. Do you think their no-download policy applies to unreleased stuff like bootlegs/demos/ect? 4. How risky is it really to be downloading?
just curious. I want to know I'm not going to get boned with a fine before I start downloading more boots.
thanks

There are lots of different bits of software that the techies in your college could use to monitor your internet access, things like BrowseReporter for example.
