Hello everyone.
I'm a NEW Oasis fan from the U.S.
I bought my first Oasis CD back in May of this year. WTSMG.
I was just browsing for something to listen to on iTunes. I remember hearing about this British band called Oasis back in the 1990s, but couldn't name 1 single song that they did. They never played Oasis on the radio around here and I knew of no one else that was a fan.
I downloaded WTSMG on a whim and absolutely loved it. Before I knew anything at all about the band, I told my wife that she should listen to this album because it sounded to me like what the Beatles would sound like if they were still recording today.
Now I own all 7 studio albums, 2 different live albums, Noel's acoustic album, and am on the hunt for anything else. I have no doubts that I am this band's "newest" biggest fan. I feel like I've found the holy grail of the kind of music I love to listen to. Just good proper Rock 'n Roll. They're all I've listened to now for the last few months. I'm sure a lot of you are long time fans, but imagine if you were like me and all of a sudden you've got 15 years of catching up to do and you're just blown away by it. I'm such a fan of these guys that I was ready to drag my wife on a plane and fly to London (where I've never been) to see them at Wembley at the end of July, but I couldn't get tickets. I will definitely plan on doing it next year if they don't come to the U.S, which I doubt they will because it looks like they only come here every 2-3 years. I can't wait until the next studio album and the next big tour to go see them live.

Welcome to the forum! If your looking for some more great Oasis stuff, check out the Sound and Vision section. Here are some absolute classics to start you off: MTV Unplugged - 1996 www.megaupload.com/?d=U5SVD66EGMEX - 1997 rapidshare.com/files/100126713/G_mex_97.rar(Thanks to MickyBlueEyes and Enviro for the links) And don't forget to check out all the b-sides to the early singles. Many of the ones that didn't make it onto the Masterplan are still brilliant.
