They have many similarities and have been compared constantly.
Happy Mondays do have a few tunes, but I'm going with the Twang.
Monday's lyrics are pretty poor and his voice is pretty poor and lacks conviction.
I know Mondays will win this poll because they have the 'classic' appeal and it's 'cool' to slag off the Twang, for whatever reason.
But the Twang, in my eyes, are far far superior.
I tried getting into the Mondays, but despite the few odd tunes, they really are shit - I don't understand they hype about them.

Where is the "I think both are shit" option? The whole "Madchester" scene was fucking rubbish save The Stone Roses and The Charlatans.

You don't understand the hype around them because you are a 21 year old American. The Twang are utter shit, The Mondays are legends. Where is the "I think both are shit" option? The whole "Madchester" scene was fucking rubbish save The Stone Roses and The Charlatans. No it wasn't, it was a brilliant time to be young and into music.

Mind you, Lazyitis is fucking mega! My favorite of theirs. I've had all their albums for months now, but still haven't given every song a listen to yet (just the albums that got good reviews and a few other recommended tracks).
Apart from Lazyitis and Hallelujah (Like a few others two, but those are my favorites), I feel his voice lacks conviction and passion and the lyrics have a lot to be desired for. Although musically, they are ace.
Maybe they'll grow on me. As for the Twang, they just hit me instantly - catchy, vibrant, and he sings with passion and emotion!

This is a completely ridiculous question. Happy Mondays piss all over the Twang. Even Black Grape piss on The Twang.
God's Cop Step On Lazyitis Bob's Yer Uncle 24 Hour Party People
the list goes on...
