great stuff. i wouldn't have minded being in his position, being paid something like €80 million to not drive. then again, i wouldn't mind being in his position ever... being paid €80 million to drive a ferrari.

Same thing happened when Michael himself had a bad crash at Silverstone and Mika Sato (I think it was) took over. Sato had to start at 0 points so Eddie Irvine was the number 1 driver for Ferrari and justmissed out on the Chapionship. Can't wait for Schumi to return to the Ferrari!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Close but no cigar! It was Mika Salo but I get what your saying. It's practically impossible for Schumi to win the Championship but I won't bet against him winning in Monza in September! What a story that would be!

this is an interesting turn for sure. and the man is brave, he has little to win but much to lose. I hope Alonso is allowed to drive in Valencia, it would be an interesting fight.

he has little to win but much to lose. I think it's the other way around. I hope Alonso is allowed to drive in Valencia, it would be an interesting fight. It'd be interesting, but Alonso and Schumacher were in Formula One together for six years - I think Schumacher racing Hamilton is more interesting! At first I was disappointed for the Spanish fans for being denied the opportunity to see their local hero in action (even though Spain now has two races per year). But now they're seeing the most anticipated comeback in Formula One history! Ignoring Schumacher for a minute, let's hope we actually get an interesting Grand Prix at Valencia this year.

Next race is the Valencia GP on August 23. Last years race was just dreadful and boring - nobody was looking forward to it this year, until Schumi announced his comeback.

^ he's decided not to make a comeback now. Just heard it on the news there, something to do with a neck injury.

Aye, it's true - absolutely gutted. Hopefully, he might return in a couple of races, but I wouldn't bet on it. I was looking forward to Valencia GP - not now, as it'll be the borefest it was last year.
Gutted.
