I probably did a poll on this before, but fuck it. If so, can't remember who I voted for, but I'm going with The Clash now.....v hard decision, imo.

Yes, very very true. You've done exactly the same poll on here a couple of years ago and said the exactly the same thing, so I'm gonna say exactly the same thing as I said back then.
I love them both, The Jam and The Clash are really great, BUT you just can't compare them, because:
The Jam were NOT a punk band although you can definitely hear the punk influence in their first album "In The City".
Joe Strummer was a great, great, great man. I don't need to say more.

Probably The Jam because I don't listen to The Clash much.

The Jam were a good band but The Clash were in a different world for me only Oasis, Nirvana and early Manics come even close to them.

The Clash. Easily for me.
I dig the The Jam quite a bit but The Clash are one of the most innovative groups of all time. Cut the Crap was... crap but every other album was good to fucking amazing.

Clash are terrific and influential, but Weller is the daddy.
Even his new album is chilled and mature.
The Jam have had some legendary tunes: Thats Entertainment, Eton Rifles, Down In The Tube Station At Midnight, In The City, This Is The Modern World, David Watts, Smithers-Jones, Butterfly Collector and all the rest.
Magic.

I'd say The Jam but really I haven't heard enough of The Clash to compare them.
