You can judge an album only in the first time the second and third... Of course, if you listening an album too much time... it's gonna be boring... like Doys or a lot of new albums... Kasabian new album is just a masterpiece.... don't say a word about it...

Can't understand why nobody here mentioned Archive :
This is what I call a perfect album with history during all the whole listenning..
You are all too much in rock'n roll pure industry... you missed a lot of pure magic things...
Stop NME

Kasabian - WPRLA
The Enemy - Music for the People (The most under rated album of the year, that's for sure)

The Enemy - Music for the People (The most under rated album of the year, that's for sure) Err, no. Ever think there is a reason why people rate it so lowly?

Tied between Queensryche's American soldier (best post-DeGarmo album imo) and Dream Theater's Black Clouds and Silver linings

Kasabian is good, but I don't understand the constant comparisons to Oasis. The passion for their music, etc. might be similar, but the music itself is quite different. Kasabian has dance and electronic influences that make them sound nothing like Oasis. I'm not too big a fan of their sound. I respect the quality of their music, but it's not in a genre that I particularly enjoy.

I don't know yet I'd say that Phoenix, Camera Obscura, Grizzly Bear, Dinosaur Jr., the Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Japandroids, Bat For Lashes, Cymbals Eat Guitars and Beirut have impressed me the most. Right now my favorite is Phoenix.

I love Lisa Hannigan's Sea Sew. it was released late last year in Europe and I think in January in the US, so that would be my choice

If anyone is a fan of modern, North American "indie" check out Dark Was The Night. Got it a few days ago and it's a really great album. It's a charity album for Red Hot Organization which raises funds for the awareness and prevention of HIV/AIDs. Highlights include The Kronos Quartet's cover of Dark Was The Night, Die by Iron and Wine, So Far Around The Bend by The National, and a cover You Are The Blood by Sufjan Stevens. Actually, only really weak track is by The Decemberists. Imagine that.

West Pauper or Kingdom of Rust.
I'm fucking apalled that Doves were not shortlisted for the Mercury Music Prize, but Electro Trash such as that of La Roux makes it in there. Still good to see Kasabian are in the list.
