sure does, but don't start playing the role of underdog just yet. city may be the big spenders now, but just remember who's been the big spending in manchester before these guys bought city.

Correct - Man Utd have spent shit loads of money on shite like Anderson, Nani and Berbatov. As for City - how many strikers do they need/want? They should get their priorities in check, because in no way are they going to get close to the top four.

Good, at least he didn't go to Chelski.
Still does my head in why he decided to flog off Tevez and replace him with Michael "I'm injured and shit now" Owen.

He didn't flog off Tevez, he was only on loan to United, and not from another club, but from his "owners". I don't blame Ferguson for telling him to GTF.

I'm not 'playing the role of underdog'. That very notion is laughable; at this stage I barely even consider City to be a serious threat, money or no money. I was talking about Tevez. And though I won't dispute that we've spent big, you're oversimplifying by comparing our situation to that of City's. United's financial clout is built on the back of consistent success and business acumen, and we are usually forced to pay over the odds in the transfer market as a consequence of that. Even so, it's not as if the club is irresponsible with money; we maintained a £40k salary cap until as recently as 2000, before we were forced into a rethink in order to compete for the best players with the more liberal-spending European clubs. Even now, we're ignoring opportunities to sign players like Benzema because of their over-inflated price tags and wage demands, this being the result of clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester City waving ridiculous sums of money around. So please, don't compare us to City. Our millions weren't handed to us on a plate by a fucking oil baron.
