love 3EB, however Ursa Major will be crap...I've seen them live a number of times since they've been playing new stuff in their shows (2007) and I'm not expecting too much
Don't Believe a Word is crap, Non Dairy is crap, Red Star is b-side quality from their third album

The new album leaked last night. I'm not posting a link, but it's on zona-musical (the post with the russian link, not the hot file one). The album is good from what I've heard so far. It's probably more similar to their first album than the second or third. The production is very pleasant.

Such a great fucking band.
Listening to the opening track - Can You Take Me There - typical catchy upbeat 3EB tune. Although nothing more than a 7.5/10 for that track. Bring on the rest of the album. 3.18am here, fuck it if i dont get to bed after 4am, I have fuck all to do tomorrow!
You'll have at least one more post by me on this thread tonight

I've listened to all the tracks a couple times now. My favorite is probably Sharp Knife. Don't Believe a Word is probably my least favorite. There seems to be a trend of bands releasing their worst songs as singles lately... Also, the rap on Summer Town was pretty dumb. The song itself was excellent though. Overall, it's probably on par with their first CD. I liked their third the most though.

After first full listen......note: it takes more than one listen to properly judge an album, and many bad songs grow with constant listens, so - for the most part - these are the lowest rating possible:
Can You Take Me: 7.5/10 -- Solid, slightly better than average but nothing special Don't Believe You: 8.5/10 -- Good, I still love that "brother brother" line. The part on wanting the troops home is so 2005 though and so cliche by this point Bonfire: 7/10 -- Solid enough but could have been developed better, maybe a grower? Sharp Knife: 8.5/10 - This is just beautiful - The verses are incredible, the chorus is what lets it down, massively One in Ten: 6.5/10 - Feels a bit contrived, probably should have been better About to Break: 9/10 - One of the best on the album thus far Summer Town: 10/10 - FUCKING LOVE THIS ONE, PROPER 3EB CHUNE (hate how it ends, but fuck it) Why Can't You Be: 10/10 - Heard the live version of this, it's incredible. This could/should be a 3EB acoustic classic. Water Landing: 8/10 - Solid stuff Dao of St. Paul: 8.5/10 - Starts off amazing, then fades to a disappointing end Monotov's Private Opera: 10/10 - FUCKING LOVE IT Carnival Barker (Instrumental): 5/10 - I fucking HATE instrumentals, indlucing XXing the Bush's - it's so god damn fucking lazy. Write lyrics or don't release it at all. Where as FITB was cool, this is as pointless, if not more so, than A Quick Peep. Insrumentals are usually filler and I ahve no time for that, and it's fucked up when a band closes with such shit
Nothing special by any means but sure as hell not as bad as some of that mainstream shit
What a great band. I'd probably rate this their worst album out of the four but THATS WITH ONLY ONE LISTEN.....I'm sure this'll grow. And even if it remains the worst, 3EB are turning out to be like Oasis, not concerning musical styles, or attitudes, or anything like that, but how even their worst album (cough HC) is still pretty damn good....but this shits all over HC. As much as I love Oasis, and once again as much as these bands are incomparable, HC is so shit - bar the singles - that this album easily fucks over that inspirational pish.
However, is even better than the pile of shit the Arctic Monkeys called Humbug. But of course, while 3EB will get better reviews than the Twang, they'll still get panned by average reviews. Unbelievable how bias the press can be.
Out of The Twang, 3EB, and Arctic Monkeys I would rate their albums in that exact order - Jewellery Quarter Ursa Major Humbug
AND - Every hit single by 3EB SHITS SHITS SHITS all over any hit song by Arctic Monkeys. Sure, I like AMs enough to listen to them, but they ain't nothong special. 3EB - at their best - are way beyond AMs, and if you silly fanboys disagree, while that may be your opinion which you're entilted to, your delusional as fuck.
No NEW band of modern times can beat Semi-Charmed Life, Deep Inside of You, Jumper, Blinded, etc etc etc....AMs can fuck off as far as I'm concerned. I would love to punch Alex Turner in the face, I really really would. What an utter vagina
3Eb>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>*miles>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>*infinity>>>>>>>>>>Arctic Monkeys.

You might already know this, but the instrumental at the end is actually the introduction to the first song on Ursa Minor (the follow up album). Knowing that might make it a little more tolerable. The full instrumental was leaked here: They're apparently adding lyrics to it too. Edit: I've listened to it again, and, though it might wear off, this is probably now my favorite 3EB album. Though it's very polished, there's a bit of indie quirkiness to it (the trumpet and acoustic guitar bits and the atypical lyrics) that make it a very fun listen. I could see a fan of the band not liking it due to the more acoustic parts though.

I just downloaded the new album. I honestly wanted to break my computer after hearing the first couple songs. I have already deleted the songs off my computer. Third Eye Blind is shit and some people on here need to have their hearing checked out.

There's a lot of fucking great American bands. Third Eye Blind, however, is not one of them. amen. seriously, l4e, they suck. 3EB is an incredibly catchy, lively, and fun band.....how u dont like them is beyond me. so was hanson. your point?

Managed to get a link to their new album. It isn't very good. Its over produced which explains why the album had been pushed back so many times.

Yeah, their latest album isn't my favorite, but that doesn't make them a shit band. HC was awfulness wrapped up in an album but we dont consider Oasis shit because of it......

I take back what I said about this possibly being their best album. It's certainly their catchiest one since their first, but the first two tracks are quite poor compared to the rest of the album. I can see people shutting it off before getting to the better stuff. The guitar solos are also pretty bad compared to their past albums. It's a very lyric-focused album. I highly recommend their third album though. It's very underrated, and I think it's their most musically interesting effort.
Edit: I also think the social commentary is a bit outdated (a consequence of the album being delayed). The part about bringing the troops home is cliché rather than meaningful at this point. Also, One in Ten is a blatant rip-off of Weezer's Pink Triangle (content-wise).

After many listens, my favorites:
Bonfire, Sharp Knife, Why Can't You Be, Water Landing, Dao of St. Paul and Monotov's Private Opera, and Summer Town is solid, too
Bonfire and Sharp Knife are pretty much vintage 3EB
Solid album. Nothing amazing, but not bad either. I'll continue spinning it.

In 3 consecutive posts you somehow found away to contribute nothing worthwhile to the thread. Congratulations for outdoing me, though. That's some achievement.
