Clearly, Noel was inspired by Stairway to Heaven when he wrote Champagne Supernova.

Theyre both too long and repeating the same thing as instruments are added until a solo of epic proportions brings the song top a climax. I prefer Champagne Supernova because I find it "poppier" and more accessible. However I consider Stairway to Heaven a better song.

I prefer CS but stairway is miles ahead. It's one of the greatest peices of music of all time.

I voted for CS to support the lads, which is the only problem with the poll - its gonna be bias.

CS doesn't have the three parts like Stairway or whatever and it doesn't have an insane solo. But CS has an outstanding melody. Liam's vocals are better performed than Plants who I've always thought was over rated and i'm a pretty big zep fan. CS is just a dreamy floating type of song that reaches a outstanding climax filled with psychedelic influences kinda like a acid trip or something. Stairway its a bit rougher and instead of being an acid trip it seems like a wonders of death which is funny cos Noel said CS might be about reincarnation.

wow come on, STH is among the best tunes in history of music, some might say it's the best ever... CS is pure classic, an anthem to us fans, but I still think it's far below STH...

STH is a brilliant song, as with CS. Although it's a brilliant song, I don't consider Led Zeppelin a great band - very good, but not great. The first truly great band to come out of the British music industry after The Beatles was The Smiths. Morrissey pisses talent all over Robert Plant, who I think is somebody who needs to get his head out of his arse. Also, Johnny Marr's understated but brilliant guitar work is more effective than Jimmy Page, who I feel goes off too much in a tangent in some songs with some of his guitar playing.

Stairway has been ruined by every fucker in a pub band butchering it. Dazed and Confused top trumps its everytime. Oh for the record CS top trumps them both, but then i am biased.

Hmmmm.... well, I am going to vote for Stairway to heaven even though I think it's overrated and I'm not a huge fan of the song.
Champagne Supernova is in my Oasis top ten but it isn't a brilliant piece of art. It also doesn't have the cultural relevance, and has only been around for 15 years compared to the 35 that STH has been around for. Both are outstanding songs, but I can't give it to Oasis on this one......

Sorry, but I'll go with Stairway to heaven. It's marvellous song. To say about Champagne Supernova, it's also good track and it has some mood of majesty, but, I think, it can't be compared with Stairway.

Funny poll question.
I remember rushing home after the Wonderwall single came out, listening to The Masterplan and thinking 'damn Noel has re-written Stairway to Heaven!!'
Both songs are overrated.
I should vote for CS but Stairway is getting killed and really shouldn't be so I'll just abstain.
