Just saw some footage of it - wow. They sounded unbelievable; loud, super aggressive, swaggering, brilliant. Liam's voice was superb. Crowd was immense. Bit of rock n roll drama with tickets and transport. I reckon it sounds like a magical one - their mid period Knebworth, but better musically. Thoughts? Really wanna hear from those who were there! Hope you enjoyed it as much as I think I would have!!!

Slane was something else. Their best gig? I don't know, I can't say. Put it this way, I won't be foregetting any of it in a hurry!

Ya this was my first Oasis gig and it won't be the last!! Maybe overcrowded, but Liam sounded majestic. A lot better than some of the other gigs I have heard from this tour, ie the Electric Proms.
EPIC it was.

Live Forever wasn't good though, a real shame. I hope they aren't gonna put it on DVD tbh, I thought the Heaton park gigs were way better (based on bad audio clips though)

It was only my second time seeing them. I was at Marlay Park in 2005, in the pit, front row centre on the barrier and that took some beating but Slane pissed all over that gig. It was magic. The atmosphere was unreal.
It's not their best gig ever but definitely one of them. Noel even said it takes some beating in his blog or something along those lines. We were on the bump just to the right of the stage (one of the better spots because you can see everything) and I remember turning around and seeing everyone (and I mean everyone) with their hands up singing along to 'Half The World Away'. I thought I was seeing things at one stage. I turned around at again and I seen a girl crying when 'Don't Look Back In Anger' was being played. Maybe she was just drunk but it didn't look like that. It was like Oasismania.
EPIC!

Right, I've had a few days to gather my thoughts. So where do I start? All in all the best way to describe it is how Liam described the crowd at the end: "Biblical." The entire event was a magical experience, to such an extent that it felt like a dream that you'd wake up from and be pissed that the concert hadn't arrived yet. Completely surreal. I arrived midway through Glasvegas' predictably painful set after trekking several kilometres from the drop-off point, through a legion of zombified drunks through the Slane village and finally to the venue itself after being given a souvenir ticket, which was a nice touch. It felt like I had truly witnessed the apocalypse as many a thousand had already fallen to the intoxication, and it was only 3.30 in the afternoon. Initially I was disappointed at not being able to access the pit, but I drew the line when one particular individual demanded 40 euros for a wristband that they didn’t even intend on using. Fuck that, I thought, I paid just over that for the ticket, the atmosphere behind the barrier should be ecstatic regardless. First up was Kasabian. I’d been looking forward to these guys ever since they tore the roof off last year supporting Muse in Dublin. Now with a new album with a host of new beasts to tame in the live setting, it couldn’t have been anything less than insane. The Setlist was flawless, assaulting the crowd with monster after monster, and the crowd were right up for it. Fire was my personal favourite live, again sounding better than on record, but Vlad, Empire and Club Foot all had the same magic. Hearing thousands of people screaming “We need to raise the PEOPLE!” whilst going out of their fucking minds was something I’ll never forget. Fast Fuse and Shoot The Runner sustained the manic tempo whilst LSF rounded off a staggering performance in anthemic style. What a start. A completely mindless mosh in the evening sunshine, and things were just getting started. The bar queues were a bit on the appalling side so we opted to refuel with just tap water, providing barely enough energy to make it through the next act alive: The Prodigy. Nothing could have prepared you for this. Breathe was like a kiss of death, only sonically. Judgement Day was upon us. Omen, Firestarter and Invaders Must Die provided a soundtrack to a fight for survival, which culminated in the demonic assault of Smack My Bitch Up. The Prodigy were amazing, they worked the crowd brilliantly, with Maxim Reality repeatedly addressing his warriors as “All my people up in Slane!” but by the end I was glad to have them gone, it was crowds were almost sadistic at times. With battle scars intact, we awaited the headliners, the reason we were all there. The first five of six Oasis tunes were just an onslaught of unstoppable energy. Rock N Roll Star, Lyla, The Shock, Cigs and Alcohol and Roll With It consecutively was a mental opening. After that the crowd mellowed out as we sang along to storming rendition of To Be Where There’s Life and a blissful Masterplan. Songbird flew by without much reception, but Slide Away was a true highlight, despite Liam’s little mistake. The crowd were in full voice for the Definitely Maybe favourite but Noel amped things up for the next double header. Morning Glory provided a nostalgic sing-along and despite barely anyone picking up on My Big Mouth, it sounded phenomenal so I’m glad the band decided to nourish the hardcore fans with an underrated obscurity. Liam’s voice was also faultless during My Big Mouth, a lot of people have complained about him during Slane, but to me he sounded on top form. After Noel double dared us not to sing along to Half The World Away everyone gave in to the infectious melodies, making for another high point of the gig. Liam returned to deliver a relentless barrage of classics in Wonderwall, Supersonic and finally, finally, finally Live Forever. The first time I’d heard it live, having seen Oasis only once before. The crowd drowned out the band during this one, incredible. The encore was the same as usual, but no less special. Don’t Look Back In Anger was brilliant, Falling Down drew an underwhelming reception whilst Champagne Supernova was simply euphoric. Capped off with a great rendition of I Am The Walrus, the crowd contributed every word as well as the “whoos!” during the chorus, ending an amazing day in style. The painful return trek to the bus was one which everyone was dreading, but a host of fireworks and an an upward hike soundtracked by Married With Children at least made it bearable. Again, a truly memorable day. I wasn’t a few feet from Liam like the Belfast gig in October, but the atmosphere at Slane was equally good, if not better, and the amazing support acts only helped make it one of the best gigs I’ve ever been to.

i thought it was unbelievable, the whole energy of the gig was breathtaking. the set list was superb and have to say it was the quickest 2 hours of my life it flew in i was enjoying it that much. It was the 5th time i've seen Oasis the other 4 were all in dublin aswell.. lansdowne rd, 2 in the point and marley park, all them gigs were great but slane was better than the 4 put together. I was about 10yards behind the pit to the right of the stage and to look around and just see a sea of people was mindblowing, i've seen 80000 people before but there looked to be nearer 100,000. i have a few good videos i'll be uploading to youtube in the next few days havent had a chance yet, will give a post when theyre up

Thanks I'd been meaning to put up a review for the last few days but had to take care of a few other things. Just sad that it's probably the last I'll see of Oasis live anyway for long time. Had been looking forward to Slane since October, and before that I was looking forward to a gig in October since August, so it's more or less a year since I wasn't anticipating an Oasis gig. I want more!

For me there was just something missing from the gig. Great day alltogether, brilliant set from the lads but just a little bit of magic was missin for me.
Maybe it was being pissed off with missin the prodigy while quing for beer, the whole fucking set. Though all that went out the window when Rock and Roll start came on. Thought Liam wasn't on stage enough aswell. Being behind the second pit barrier and not up the front might be another factor or maybe the novelty of gigs is wearing off (not really tho!).
Well far from the best gig ever, visuals on the screens were great, dont let them fool ya tho. To me nothing extra special happened. Even tho it took over 4 hours to get home when I'm "just down the road", I'd do it again no problem!
